Best "chillout" albums?

I chill best to MrPD's chill album. I made it myself. It's got Dropkick Murphys, Buckcherry, Metallica, Godsmack, Saliva, Offspring, Betty Blowtorch, Juda Priest, Nahville *****, and more Buckcherry. I chill best to fast hard stuff that lets you not think about anything.

Just in for the record, these are not MP3's never were.

There's a pretty chill mix called Verve Remixed by some high profile DJs - Kruder & Dorfmeister among them. Its newish, and alriight to my ears.

P.S. there's also an album that features the above tracks in their original Verve catalog version. (Verve Unmixed)

Ditto, although unlike yourself I'm into the ambient/new age category mostly. I used to hate pure soundscape music, but these days I really love a lot of it, while still enjoying the more melodic stuff.

I really prefer music without vocals these days... guess I no longer get off much on hearing people sing about their problems

metal isn't all aggressive, man. it's an EXTREMELY diverse and versatile genre.

take a listen to something like Maudlin of the Well.

OK, been told that twice now... fair enough. Is it still like, as mellow as Enya or Yanni though, to the point where you can gently ride its waves into a peaceful slumber, or listen to it while meditating? I guess I just never thought of it as something to chill out to, but rather to rock out.
