Best Cans for under $100?

What do others think of the AKG K240s? They are around the $100 mark used.

I barrowed a pair for a week and thought they compared very nicely to my Byer DT770s.

RX700 is easily my pick, but they're huge, and if style is important to you the D1001 would be a better bet as its smaller and sleeker.

Edit: Buy.com is out.

Hmm, looks like you're out of luck for the moment. Creative Arvuna Live, maybe? Supposed to be the same drivers in a different casing. No idea how that affects SQ.

is there any way to change the plug? i wont be using it on the go, but if i decide to, that plug looks too fat to plug into my iphone 2g. is there a way to change that or do i need to buy an adapter? most of the headphones listed here wouldnt work, i think the denon d2000 is the only one that looks like it might be able to. hows the sennheiser hd555? i found a couple off ebay for 80-100.

Only way to change the plug would be to chop it off and resolder another one on. The D2000 is an excellent phone but its big and the cheapest ones I've seen are on here for about $220. HD555 is a nice headphone. Balanced and clear, a good value. Its bigger than the D1001 and an open design meaning your sound leaks out and outside noise leaks in. But if you don't mind that, its a good choice.
