Best bang for Buck MP3 player?

I will say this though. If you want (as this thread is called) the best bang for your buck MP3 player you can't go past the shuffle. It's simple, and sounds good. The Sony is sexier, more expensive and has a screen.

The Sony is tempting but I warn you that the software is supposed to be a pain in the ass. I'm a Mac user so it's not really an option for me. Let us know what you decide though.

I still think you should get the Shuffle though (especially after all the hard work making those AAC files - wink!)

Ya, I'm sticking with the shuffle, and will "upgrade" to the 1G, I'm thinking..

Just so I can have as many lossless as I can on there..

Not sure if you're joking, but if not, the Shuffle doesn't play lossless BTW.

You could play WAV, but I wouldn't. Certainly not at a less than ideal environment like the gym (assuming all treadmills aren't greased and all weights are rubber coated... plus the Gym Music Devils let slip that one gym's audio system - always wondered is ****** music a necessity for getting in shape?).

Course you'd have to worry a bit about them reappearing if you use random/shuffle.
