see saying "the best" is totally relative, people prefer different sound signatures.

Here's a good listing with reviews: http://www.skratchworx.com/reviews/headphones_2010.php

I've got the HDJ-2000 and it's fantastic, but it's expensive.

I have retired from djing, but when I was active, I used to carry with me either the MDR-V6 (made in Japan) or HD25-1. Both have excellent sound quality and can handle a lot of power and are very loud. The HD25-1 is probably the only full size headphone that provides isolation close to in ear monitors. A lot of djs use the HD25-1.

I haven't had any issues with it so far. It feels very sturdy and well made.

So far my Xone XD-53 have been quite good, much cheaper than those HDJ-2000 and with very little sound difference, along with having a more powerful bass than the Pioneer's. I'd love that they had replaceable cable, but that's not high on your priority list, I think. They basically took Audio Technica's ATH-PRO700, fixed the headband issues and changed the plug. Overall, they're great headphones.

I've heard good things about the AIAIAI TMA-1, but that's as much as I can say about them.

I used this, and will never touch them again.

crazy good, the mids man super crazy epic mids. Great bass*docent extend very low*. Highs are pretty details but a bit rolled off. I honestly dont see why they call them "DJ" headphones, not overly bassy, more midcentric than anything.
