Bang & Olufsen Beoplay H100 Headphones - Reviews & Impressions

Apr 30, 2025 at 11:15 AM Post #1,666 of 1,672
I just got these... Does the clamp force ease over time? Is that headband comfortable over longer listening sessions, or does it have a softer/more comfortable replacement?
Last week I took two transcontinental flights, longest was around 8 hours. I wore the h100 the whole flight without a single comfort issue, not even hot ears! Also, Im very surprised by how well the ANC works in an airplane, much better than the IO-12, Bathys, T+A, Mark Levinson, and on par (if not better) to the AirPods Max.

You have a surprise that somebody reacting positively to the reply I giving you to the reply that you giving my post with the 2 (useful and relevant) Bathys MG links? Your comments in that reply, just like now, adding zero useful information -- basically useless contributions.

I see that you often have a tendency for replying to my posts, for some strange reason, often with some very 'peculiar' comments. Maybe next time is a good idea that you count to 10, or, better, count to 100 before you reply to my posts.

Now you're doing the same in the Bathys thread, but in this case about a headphone you don't even own.
Well all very True and I get that and why you are annoyed by my intervention...
I also acknowledge you give sometimes useful informaton

but I also I did say that I would not comment about the sound of other products since first of all I don't have Focal MG and I already said multiple times it s usually down to user preference and limited by hearing abilities and the way we hear things as well... At the end of the day I believe one should make it's own opinion

As for the rest I Well, I really dont need to buy the Focal MG to know that everything else than sound is better on H100(or at least more than satisfactory than I don't need to look elsewhere).. By everything I Mean the Design, the controls, the practicality(I believe original Bathys don't have audio call over USB-C and don't charge while connected to USB- c... Of course I don't know if s still true for Focal MG),
Functions and I hope future firmware uodard
ANC and Transparency on H100 is better than on my Fidelio T2 TWS which scored pretty high in my book... So I am pleased with how ANC perform

I guess I was really wondering why you went and buy the Focal MG...
(And for me even if Focal MG was better souding than H100 which I am not saying it is... I still would not want it...)
You don't have to reply to that. And myself will dial back a little more

Thanks, Did you also try the 3.5mm audio cable by any chqncd.. Did it catch any noise from the airplane jack?

I liked the sound of the IO-12 a bit more but in everything else that matters to me (slim portability, ANC, transparency, phone/zoom calls, long term comfort and discreet looks) the H100 wins, of course the H100 sound is superb, 99.5% of the Dali's. I will try the MG, but no matter what, I will not buy it. Its hideous and blingy (to me), even more so in that brown color; it has a terrible weight balance/not comfortable, I doubt ANC will be close to the H100, its controls are bad, and for portability its too thick to fit in my briefcase.

I never connect to the airplane's entertainment system, sorry. But I have another long trip in 2 weeks and will try and let you know.

Nice to know about IO-12 and don't worry I also have long flight +8 hours coming up next week so I will find out how the airplane entertainment fares either wired or via my other Bluetooth audio transmitter

I also acknowledge you give sometimes useful informaton

I don't need that you acknowledge my useful contributions in this or others threads -- I know very well that many (not all, obviously) of my posts are useful for others people.

You are a member of head-fi for 16 years (since August 2009) and you have (until this evening) 387 posts -- of those 387 posts, 211 are specifically in this thread in the last 8 months. That is more than half of all your posts in all this years. How many of those 211 posts are actually relevant and/or useful?? You already exchanging many, many posts in this thread with one other member where there are even several insults, posts that in general are not useful for others people. Why the constant necessity for replying to every single post and --the majority of the time-- not offer any genuine contribution?? Some restraint is necessary, this can be often a real contribution.

I guess I was really wondering why you went and buy the Focal MG...

If you're genuinely curious that day about why I personally buy the Bathys MG, in that case maybe is better a question/reply more or less like this: "Hey angelom, (thank you for your impressions, but) I'm curious why you buying the Bathys MG when I know that you like so much the H100. Do you think that if you like the sound more of the MG, you will selling your H100?" That is very better than your actual reply of "Well i try no to buy gear i wont be keeping...I knew from the start that even if for some reason Focal Mg had better sound that would not make me abandon the H100", a post that is contributing absolutely nothing and making judgments about my new purchase, specially after I posting a link with first hand relevant and useful initial impressions and comparisons of this 2 headphones.

Here is a review (not sponsored) from 7 days ago that I think in general is good and very honest, where the person is comparing the H100 and H95 and also some aspects of the AirPods Max:

Edit :
Bad news Folks, price is now 1700 euros in Europe...
Hard sell

Soon people will tell that at 1499€ it was a deal and rewrite history.... 😅

I sincerely hope it will continue to sell well
I hope the next TWS from B&O don't go that route...

Hi, if i can kindly and answer at some of your (valid) points.:

Number of posts since 2009 (almost 400 and more than half ot them it would seem on H100 topic alone ( i was honestly not couting)...
I dont know how many of my posts are useful contibutions maybe just a few l but i also do try to help when i can and sometimes bring other perspective from.other gear i own and use..
Since A lot more is going on or seems to be going on with B&O company and B&O latest headphone and i also use the H100 daily with satisfaction much more than all my other products..I really tend to post more here...And there are still a lot of unknown variables from.B&O ...After the 5 year warranty what about supply parts and repairs...
The H100 is still in its infancy stage but i still wonder if B&O will truly make it upgradable if needed in a few years..
there is not really other group even on reddit where there s a real follow up about H100.
(Even on the french forum tellementnomade.org nothing)
The other topics on head-fi are not as lively were released from.start will most working features and severe physical.lilmitations (poor ANc, poor call quality in not so noisy envitonnemrnt,...)what s more to discuss

My HD800 is set in stone...nothing to improve on the software side(i dont intend to mod them either), as well as all my other non electronic devices

Some bluetooth audio products i have did not get the software support they deserved or were promised.or were plagged with quality issue simply looking at sennheiser a brand i like (dont work reliably enough MTW3, MTW 4 and Momentum 4 but those last too i hope they come up with a solution)
i have posted a few times in other topics those last months mostly about issue of product i own but some of them are not very popular or products in their end of life Phiips Fidelio T2 and their topic is probably dead with a lot undelivered promised.(another product that advertized auracast /LC3 Le audio on the box and 2 years later after purchase still nothing.
I think the Philips fidelio T2 (they are my go to when i dont want/cant wear headphones)are more from a design point a view and features in line with Beoplay H100 while beoplay EX or Eleven were designed for H95

For H100 firmware and futute updates, we have to be patient ...and i will be for the rest of 2025 ( i could only get some sort of confirmation from b&O that 3 devices connectiviy would come in 2025 but nothing yet for LDAC)

2)Answering back to some people ..yeah that's indeed an annoying trait i have, i usually tend to answer back or try to correct someone from even nitpicking details (aka RTFM) when i i believe he could be wrong.sometimes i agree it s better to walk away or stay put ..

3) Yes that would have been much more sensitive (and smart!) adressing you that way rather than making that judgment call...Sorry, will try to do better next time and not just with you even if i have other opinions

3) Nice video fromn Ethan..
I agree with most of what he said indeed i feel like the H95 case is a waste of aluminium and i prefer the new H100 case...
i.also like its take on the airpods max even if it leaves the headband unprotected...i would not mind a similar and improved solution for the H100.
Indeed i sometimes put the H100 case upside down in my bag depending how much space i have...
i will probably try like him to sell them as well as other gear

this one is in russian(english subtitles available or automatic translations about H100 et beoplay EX.

good video worth watching i bielieve too

5) Have a nice day

So, the price of the H100 is now 201 EUR more expensive in Europe and $300 USD more expensive in USA -- now the price is 1700 EUR and $1850 USD respectively. (The price of the H95 is still 999 EUR in Europe). Is apparent that the person in this thread that last September predicting that the H100 will cost $700 USD in two months getting things a little wrong.
