My experience with firmware-based upgrades on codecs etc... not good.

The same with previous TVs where HDR was added based on a firmware update 2 years later... this kind of HDR wasn't as good as buying a "real" HDR capable TV.

Quite strange with regard to codecs at launch to put it mildly. Price is almost absurdly high but price doesn't matter when it comes to luxury and "status symbol" kind of items. Battery life is way less than on the H95 and even Bluetooth version is "only" 5.3...

The design is quite nice as always but the headband part I don't like as much compared to the H95. This is a tough sell and I'm definitely not on board early here (if at all). Repairabilty is very good as is the warranty but it is almost to be expected at that price point. No 3,5mm jack either, right? Phew.

According to the manual there is a USB-C to 3.5mm cable included (yet no passive mode)

On a side note, Forbes accidentally lists a 3.5mm TRRS cable, which is an error.

I was one of the early H95 owners with limited edition 32/95 .. I loved the H95 for what they were able to bring to the table back then.

Today’s market however has seen Bluetooth headphones reach a fundamentally higher performance level … And I am not so convinced anymore that with the H100 B&O can still be considered competitive versus the current top of the line alternatives (Mark Levinson No 5909, T+A Solitaire T)

I tried h95 and it sucked against even airpods max. These are more expensive than hd 800s even. I was expecting some advanced driver tech but lol it’s again 40mm something something coated something.

I have H95 and have been very happy with those. Now the H100 seem a downgrade to me for these reasons:

- 50g or so heavier than H95
- 8 hours less battery life than H95
- No 3.5mm passive jack
- These do not fold like H95
- Limited codec support (at launch though LDAC is supposed to be released in future)
- Price is way too high

The pros seem nice but not sure if worth the other cons:

- 2 more Mics
- Better ANC and transparency
- Probably better audio quality?
- Bluetooth 5.3 (and not 5.4) so not a big pro but should mention it

I'm not sure I like the auto-on/off function. I like being able to actually turn it on and off myself.

Actually, you have both options. Is possible switching on and off manually with the physical buttons of each earcup.

What is “electro-dynamic”? Is that just a regular dynamic driver? Aren’t all of them electronic?

And I am not a fan of banking on future promised updates. Sure higher codecs may arrive, but I’ll wait and consider it compared to the competition at that time.

Also what could possibly justify the price when you have wireless headphones like the Noble Apollo with hybrid drivers at a third ish of the price and better codecs and flexibility like removable boom mics TODAY.

Don’t forget the Dali iO-12 that for me is little better in sound quality than the 5909.

For me today the best 2 sounding ANC headphones are the Solitaire T and iO-12 (next is the 5909, in my opinion, and after that is the Bathys).

Still, none of these is a new release for fall/winter 2024 without high-res codecs, passive jack and priced at 1500€ while being heavier than its predecessor and while having shorter battery life etc. It is fair enough to say that there are doubts the H100 are even really competitive on release day and that's not even considering their extremely high price point.
