The more interesting assumption that might be made from this is that Senn isn't planning on making many more HD600s if they've exhausted their supply of parts, right? To me this sounds like the 650 becoming second in line sooner, rather than later

I was just thinking the same thing. The HD-580 has been officially discontinued and is being sold on closeout, and now HD-600 parts are no longer available, meaning that production has stopped.

Looks like the HD-650 will be second tier soon enough. Whatever the new one is, I'll order it.

Also, the new one should bring a price drop on the HD-650 and maybe the HD-600 will fall to $125 like the HD-580.

This could be very good for Head-Fi'ers.

Even more reason to get woody's....just got mine and so far im loving them =). I have them on my 580s, but once i do upgrade (most likely the 600-650) i can use them on those too =)

Really sucks that they just dont make them anymore. I can see it though, since the 580s are not made anymore, the parts will not be made either.

I just got off the phone with Sennheiser. The good news is HD650 grills are backwards compatible to the HD600 and the HD580. The bad news is HD650 grills are $36.76 EACH!! Seems funny they still have HD580 grills and HD650 grills, but are out of the HD600 grills "forever".......

Probably because of the onslaught of head-fiers ordering them in the not-so-distant past...

mhaha...did you see me win the lottery? Just my 580s with some Flame Maple Woody. GOD i love it, looks and sounds really nice.

Honestly this is just another way for Senn to make more money...I mean, why sell something for 9$ when you can charge 18$.

I should be getting my grilles from Senn Canada sometime this week.

I'm glad i ordered two sets of grilles to offset the 11$ CDN shipping cost.

i take it you ordered before they ran out?

Has anyone actually modded the stock grilles? Like cut open the center and maybe glue some wire mesh? I was thinking about it, but would want to get a extra pair of the stock set to keep, in case i sell my 580s.

Doubt it, the prototype model didn't sound much better than the HD650 at all. They still have a lot more R&D to do.

Ignore him. He thinks that the Omega III is too veiled with the new Aristaeus II COFEE (Completely Overclocked For Extreme Eargasm). Heck, he even said that the KGSS GULLIBLE (Geared Up with Locked Linear Immittance and Balanced Linear Equalization) can't output enough voltage to drive the HE120 (It has an output voltage that's twice as much as the KGSS-BH for crying out loud...).
