Thought it looked pretty ugly when I saw it a week or so ago. Still ugly, IMO. Feature set on the other hand looks very good, as does the price. Will be interested to see what it can do.

I think BMC makes visually amazing pieces of gear. Well thought of, striking, modern.

They also make brilliant sounding gear. This is why I am interested in their products. The looks is just an added bonus to me, not the main criteria.

I love the looks of this.  Especially when you consider that most everyone has a basic box.

The new BMC Pure Dac is scheduled for release in April 2013.

The projected Target US Retail will be $1,600.

If you would like me to keep you posted please send me your address and phone number as well.

Looking Good! Good find.

Looks like  will have to wait till end of March, that's when it starts shipping.

BMC is looking to start shipping the units end of March and as Brian- the US distributor states it should then be available in April.

Also the unit is very similar in sound signature to the reference series that sells for $6000+ . So definitely the PureDac would then be considered a bargain. Here is a copy of the review by faiaudio.de as published in Six moons on the reference series DAC1

What is interesting to me here is you can feel the swell heading in for the big wave..................  More mainstream audio companies taking headphones more seriously and want a piece of the pie.  It will be a great study to hear if they can offer more than fabulous companies we already have or.....not keep up!

Have one on order so hopefully should get one of the first ones shipped.

Just hoping I do not detour into something else in the meantime with so many choices like the Lynx Hilo or the Exasound or the Invicta.
