Why is the sky blue? Why does poo smell? How come birds suddenly appear, everytime you're near?

It's just how it is.

Do a search for "V600" and you'll get tons of reasons why.

Hmmm, alright.

It's just I need to someting collapsable w/good impactfull bass for portability--good construction.

I use my HD280s mostly for mixing and listening to hip-hop, they're OK for portable use, I've made them work, but I figured it's time to get something that will sound decent for all the music I listen to on the go (rock, metal, indie, hip-hop, noise, electronic).

I don't know, I might just keep what I got--don't really feel like buying another pair, unless I find an awesome deal on something.

Why don't you just get the V6's? Aren't they the same design as the v600's but better sounding and similar price?

I could've got the v600 for a good deal so that's why I was asking.

well, what was the good deal... It might not be worth the 60 bucks pricetag but might be for 30-40 bucks.

It's a poor deal even at $25. There is no low end extension on those V600's - while at the same time, the bass that's there is muddy and lifeless. The midrange is very uneven, to boot.

I have them, I used to work at Best Buy so in my dark days before head-fi I got them for about 40 or 35 I think. The highs seem very recessed and the bass is bloated, not punchy, not much impact, not accurate at all.

yeah i'm also considering the v6 and the v7506 as my regular everyday carry-arounds. any opinions on which is preferable? (I know they're basically the same...someone just tell me!)

I just recently weened myself off of the V600. I used to think they were great cans. Then I started getting some lowend distortion from the right side. I heard about this forum and after doing some research decided to get the HD555. WOW! I had no idea I was missing soooooo much!

I'm just going to apologize to my ears now and promise them I will never put any Sony products on them again.
