If you are looking for a cdp in Oz, take a look at Redgum Audio's cdp. Its very good. Has been compared to Sony's top of the line unit.

Get them from headroom and you have a 30-day guarantee which means if you think they aren't for you, you can return them without any obligation within 30 days; most stores don't do that. You should also be able to apply for a 5 year extended warranty through sennheiser if you do it through headroom.

Make sure the dealer you get them from is an authorized senheiser dealer.

Cheers,

At the moment I don't have the NAD but it will be coming very very I haven't started twisting salesman's arms yet. I did get a rather good deal on the NAD C542, 76cm wide-screen HD sony, Whatmough P21's and a NAD DVD player all for just under $5000, which was a saving of about $1600, but I don;t think i'll be able to afford the whole package, but I think the guy might be able to do me a pretty decent price on the C542, I'll keep you informed.

Yeah, a Sydney chapter "meet" might be interesting. I'd love to compare cans (and get sucked in to even more purchases I'm sure).

Easter?

Maybe this deserves its own thread?

Cheers,

If anyone is interested maybe we could get some deal from them.

any link to visit their web?

Hehe sorry guys been busy, well sadly the 650's got delayed on their way to Retravision (near the QVB) in the city. So alas I don't currently have them, but they have assured me that they will be coming in tomorrow.

I'll be picking the 650's and 542 up then at the moment he's said $1020, but i'll go in there and wave a big bundle of cash under his nose and get a price below $1000.

mneuwiueyagaobcf joined me in the purchase of the 650's so he should have an opinion for you guys aswell.

After looking at the invoice it states the price is $530, but i'll have to talk to them about it.

Anyway I shall return tomorrow.

Talk to a salesman called Steve if you plan to purchase these.

I have to thank Silencer. He is the most dedicated bargain hunter in Australia.

Good luck and great work. There must be huge mark ups on these things. Tell them how much cheaper you can get these things online.

530AU$ is about 395US$. Headphone.com lists the HD650 as 449US$ however if you ring them you can get a deal of approx. 350US$. Factor in shipping, tax, custom brokerage fees and you are back up to well over 400US$ + you have to deal with the hassle of ordering from overseas.
