I wish I still had a GT

I now have kids and a mortgage.

I haven't built my 3 channel B22 yet, but I wasn't expecting too many problems. I have been holding off the build while looking for a suitable casing option. One of the hardest parts of DIY in Australia is finding a decent case.

This thread has sparked my interest in putting mine together. I think I have a nice case option for the 3 channel, but the cases look like they would be a bit too small for the 4 channel.

What are you guys going to use for the 4 gang pot?

Basically a balanced attenuator/volume control.

Haven’t got that far ahead yet, it’s been at the back of my mind though. Have you got any ideas?

I want to apologize for not responding to this thread earlier (and to your PM John), after getting everyone excited. It looks like this thing has taken on a life of its own, and I have to admit that my judgement in offering to take this on initially was clouded by a few too many beers that night. I initially thought "Hey cool project idea"!, and then then next day it was "Holy Crap'!
I've been into DIY for a while, but in reality my own projects are waiting for me while real life takes up a considerable amount of time.. My new wife would probably tell me to shake my head a little and see if it rattles..
wink.gif
Right now I have a 41hz amp 6, Hagerman bugle preamp and powersupply, a passive switch box and two SOHA + JISBOS + e12 on the go, so I don't really know what I was thinking (actually it was the Smithwicks that was doing the thinking for me)

The whole idea of Balanced amps is intriguing, but something intermediate would probably be a good idea. NMaher did a cool little balanced MiniM3 that I saw on another thread, and even a CK2III balanced might be an interesting project. I like to keep thinks simple, too bad I don't always take my own advise.

Any I better run, have to go pick up the pieces of a work project gone wrong (and wasted all day Sunday on).
Good luck to all of you, maybe I can contribute in some way along the way.
The DIY bug is a bad thing.. don't say nobody didn't warn you..

i would be interested in the group buy for 4 boards and 2 PS. I've been meaning to get around to building a B22 for ages.

i would be building my own, and to be honest, my projects so far have nothing on all of the builds i see here. It's the case work that lets me down everytime

i guess what i'm trying to say is i wouldn't be the best bloke to build for anyone.

I’m keen for a stepped attenuator, I really don’t won’t to compromise

... I’ll be saving by building anyway...
