Looks like avr, bad looking avr. I know the taste is subjective, but for me, the s17 looks nicer. A17 volume knob - ergh.... the screen - ergh, design - ergh
A dual toroidal transformer is good for noise filtering. Other benefits - better performance, crosstalk, noise floor is deeper - I don't think it was an issue with s17.

As you can understand it is impossible to write a comparison under these situation.

I listen to it with the SR9000 and the sound was really good.

The front looks... strange. It feels like someone who is into old mecha anime designed it.... I am hoping the chasis deesign is in testing the idea stage as well.

A17 has fan?? I had S17 pro and sold it beacause the fan was needed.
Fan is something that does not belong audio, imo. Fans are always noisy.

Not yet finished but it sounds awesome even at this stage.

For 2K price tier there are some very serious competitors like Hifiman Prelude, Violectric HPA V380 or Audio-GD Master10.
