Ok, so all my comments stand :)

Here it is, the beast of Kharkov. Can't wait to try it.

I thought the S17 Pro was already a large brick...
Excellent my friend, please give us your impressions and a comparison vs the S17, this should be extremely interesting and it would be determining for me if I go for the M-Field or iHA-8

Also if I can ask you a favor, could you give me the dimensions of the M-Field, it's very good that you put the S17 and M-Field side by side, that helps a lot, but I'm under heavy space constrains on my desk and need to know exactly ho big it is.

Thanks dude!

HEKS is HE1000 Stealth, HEKSE is HE1000 SE :)
The "1000" is just replaced with a "K".
okie doke, thanks for the clarification.

Hifiman should consider doing something like the did with the Arya and Anando and just start calling them proper names and drop the V1, V2, numbers and Stealth this and that, it's very confusing.

35 cm length x 34 cm width x 8 cm height. You're welcome!

As for my impressions, Flux Lab recommends 100 hours of burn-in for the intended performance... I'm not sure about that, but I still want to give the amp some more time before forming any opinions.

For now, I'll just say that it does indeed feel like a bigger, more mature sibling to the S17 Pro :)

That's all that I needed to hear, thx for sharing the dimensions of this amp.

Gather your thoughts for a month or so before giving any definitive comparisons between these two amps.

Also could you tell us how hot does this amp gets?

Not hot at all. In fact, it only gets slightly warm to the touch towards the back of the chassis, while the front panel stays cold. Even my DAC runs warmer. It's huge and not cramped inside from what I can see through the vent holes, which must help a lot.

I should be ready in a week or two, but aside from the sound impressions, here are my initial thoughts:

- Lots of power. It has 3 gain levels; I've been using it at mid, but even on low, it drives my HE1000se in balanced with HUGE headroom. Maybe I should just stick to low?
- The volume knob takes some getting used to. It's too easy to turn, and the feedback is a bit weak. It produces audible 'clicks,' but with headphones on, you don't hear them anyway. Also, if you turn it too fast, it creates distortion. Due to the abundance of power, volume changes are very significant with each step, even in low gain. I'm glad I can fine-tune the volume with my DAC every 0.5dB
- Seeing how much free space there is inside, I started wondering whether the size is really justified. I mean, I don't mind it, it makes a great table for headphone stands :) Unlike the S17 Pro, where airflow is super important.

Okay, thanks for the feedback.

Yeah, temp management it's an issue with the S17, yesterday I was listening to my edition XS and I got lost in the music, and then after a while I started listening that the music was sounding a bit leaner and then noticed it switched back to 50ma mode, had to turn on my usb fans.

And since the M-Field doesn't get than hot, it means I'm going to be able to put my Cyan 2 on top of it for the moment while I get a proper rack for my desk.

I will give more detailed impressions in the dedicated M-Field thread later, but in the meantime, let me just send a brief message here: if you enjoy the S17 Pro, get the M-Field if you can. Just get it.

It requires a break-in period. Out of the box, it sounded dense, thick, and less holographic than the S17 Pro. I was always skeptical about this kind of thing, but it's really true with this amp. Right now, on my 5th day of testing, it's leagues better at basically everything. Flux Lab recommends 100 hours, "mainly to burn in the electrolytic capacitors in the power supply." Maybe it really does need it.

So, Aune wowed me when I first heard it. I loved its dynamic, muscular, lush sound without losing resolution and technicalities.
Now, the M-Field is a bigger, more mature, more refined, more muscular brother of the Aune. In terms of timbre, if the Aune is a muscle car, the M-Field is a monster truck 💪. It really is the S17 Pro on steroids, @Ichos 🤝.

It has more body, more slam, it engulfs you in the music more, but also has better clarity, separation, bass, and vocal control. A friend of mine came over today to listen to my HEKse. I asked him to compare the S17 Pro and the M-Field, and be honest. He hadn't heard either before. He literally said that after hearing the M-Field, it’s hard to listen to the S17 Pro, that it’s not even fair. (He said the same thing about my HEKse vs his Edition XS that he brought over, @Erick Muller, so you can get hyped 🙂).

It's hard for me to imagine a better pairing for my HEKse without paying twice the price of the M-Field or more. @Ichos might have more to say about this as he has tested lots of different equipment across different price ranges.

Well, damn!!!, just bought the HEKse, also had to buy a new chair for my desk because the current one I was not able to fix it properly and that was also an expense to get something good that's not just a gamer chair, and now I will need to get the M-Field. Somebody needs to stop me.

I will say that the S17 also needs a burn in period but it was a noticeable improvement over my previous HP amp right out of the box. All fully discrete, class A amps need a burn in period so they can settle in a little bit at least, some change more or less after the burn in period I assume it will be the same for the M-Field

Right now I'm listening to the Arya Organic, needed some brain burn in more than anything but after some EQ and playing around with different filters, it's probably the most technically proficient and impressive headphone I've heard in my life, even more so than the LCD-X with the magic EQ. The soundstage is wide but not that deep, it would be my only complain, but the drivers on the Organic are incredibly fast and the level of detail and clarity is off the charts, bass is really well extended, it doesn't slam as hard as my LCD-X and LCD2C(I will even venture to claim that the Organics don't slam as hard as the Edition XS), but man, for EDM and orchestral music it's absolutely incredible. Need to test with other generes, but as of now I'm totally satisfied with the sound quality. The only other small complain I will have with the Organics is that vocalist, even after some EQ, don't sound as real as everything else, I know that's a common complain with HIFIMAN headphones, is not that they're bad at vocal reproduction, is just that it literally feels that the vocalist is in another room while the rest of the band is really close to you, that kind of feeling.

I have to disagree, I’ve personally returned every product I’ve bought because of him earlier on in my audio venture, i question his hearing ability at this point, he described the dt1990 as neutral, never mentioned how hot the treble gets. Zeo’s is more concerned with his “percentage” than he is with giving informative and honest reviews.
To each their own.

This is why if you can't audition, you need to find reviewers who have a similar palette to yourself. I've bought many products that reviewers have praised and often don't have the same experience they share. Many are disappointing in my space to my ears and then they I have to sell them.

Couldn't watch anymore Zeos because his option was just too far off my own experiences. He initially dismissed the Susvara's which for many and my own experience are top of the food chain (he later came around). Same for the May Dac...in fact most dacs, he can't tell the difference and heavily pushed Geshelli Labs.

I've owned a Geshelli dac, and yes its a good DAC in that price range, but found higher end R2R more my taste.

Hi, if there's a problem of your device, we recommend you to contact your seller to test it. If it's malfunctioning, you may need a repair or replacement.

Our official website is currently undergoing a system change. Sorry for the confusion. Here is the user manual: http://aune.hifidiy.net/aune_en/S17pro/S17proSMSen.pdf
Has anyone managed to download this? I’ve tried several times and always failed.
