I need to check the manual to find out if it’s okay to use/connect the RCA pre-amp out and the XLR headphone out at the same time.Sorry, I probably missed it, but out of pure curiosity, what is your issue?

Yes it's. I ran the S17 as pre-amp for my active speakers for a while, you just have to keep in mind that both the pre-outs and the HP outs are active at the same time and there's no way to turn off one or the other. For the RCA pre-out you will need to turn off whatever amp or active speakers you have at that end, otherwise, sound is going to come out from both ends at the same time.I need to check the manual to find out if it’s okay to use/connect the RCA pre-amp out and the XLR headphone out at the same time.

What I'm afraid of is that the sound quality might somehow degrade if I connect it to the Aegis using the pre-amp out at the same time. So, according to your experience, I can simply turn off my Aegis (i.e., no need to unplug the cable) when I want to listen to music using my headphones with the Aune S17 Pro.

No, it wouldn't and shouldn't affect negatively sound quality if you connect it to anything. And since the Aegis is another tube amp, according to my experience, it's better to turn off tube amps when you're not using them, specially for extended periods of time. Thanks for the clarification. Much appreciated.

Thanks. I asked because in the Harmony’s manual, they strongly recommend not connecting the XLR and RCA outputs at the same time, even if we're not turning on both amps connected to the XLR and RCA simultaneously.manual doesnt have this information anyway. yes absolutely fine to have headphones and amp connected at the same time. yes you can turn off your aegis, no need to unplug rca out

I have listened to the HIFIMAN Arya Stealth with the S17 Pro for 2 weeks. I'm absolutely not an expert in terms of headphones, but to me, my 600-ohm DT880 sounds better.
I have both a modded DT880 and I recently got to hear the Arya Organic on my system, and to my ears, almost any hifiman and for that matter, almost any headphone sounds better than the DT880, even with proper EQ and on an OTL tube amp. I also tend to have comfort issues with Beyers, would take any egg shaped HFM over any BD and also many headphones also any day of the week, most of all because of comfort.I have listened to the HIFIMAN Arya Stealth with the S17 Pro for 2 weeks. Tho this is not the first time I've heard people preferring the Beyers to a hifiman, my main proble with the beyers I've heard to this point is that they sound really dry for my taste and also the tonal balance is all over the place even when you EQ them or mod them.

As a matter of interest, can you describe in what way you prefered them? If you are sensitive to high frequencies the Hifimen might feel uncomfortable so could it be that?I have listened to the HIFIMAN Arya Stealth with the S17 Pro for 2 weeks. It only says not to plug in more than one set of headphones. Want a copy?I need to check the manual to find out if it’s okay to use/connect the RCA pre-amp out and the XLR headphone out at the same time.

I'm sure I speak for a few of us when I say thanks for this, your thoughts about the device and comparison with the S17 are very useful to read about, more valuable than reviews in some ways.I will give more detailed impressions in the dedicated M-Field thread later, but in the meantime, let me just send a brief message here: if you enjoy the S17 Pro, get the M-Field if you can. Just get it.
The M-Field was under consideration for replacing my S17 Pro in the future but the size makes it impossible. Nevertheless, it's interesting to learn about it and who knows, there may be a way...

yes, Denafrips DaC is also not very friendly with two outputs simultaneously. Maybe this limitation is R2R DACs limitation, I don't know.Thanks. Anyway, S17 is not a DAC but it is a headamp/preamp. I tested your combination with another tube amp (preamp actually: bravo audio ocean) and had no issues.
Awesome. Thank youIt only says not to plug in more than one set of headphones. Want a copy?
