@AuneAudio

Ever since I updated my firmware to 1.072 the player has become unresponsive every time I turn it off or charge it until I press the reset button. Could I please have access to the dat file it shipped with, I believe it's 1.065 as that was stable for me. Thanks in advance.

it's not unresponsive. you have to hold the power button longer, 10 seconds-ish.

It's not just turning it on, when I try to charge it the green battery indicator doesn't come on unless I press the restart button.
Sorry to hear that. I had the similar issue when the player did not want to turn on after being charged after updated to 1.072, but holding the power button for longer solved it.

Hello,

I have a problem with my M1P where the bluetooth doesn't work properly.
I connected my TWS earbuds to it without any problem, but playing music on it is next to impossible.
If I hold the M1P next to them they work (like less than 1 foot), but if I just put it in my pocket or even putting it on my desk more than 1 foot away, the music drops and cuts out.

Also, I tried to play it on my bluetooth receiver (Auris BluMe Pro) which is way more powerful than my earbuds, but here I got cracking sound all the time rendering any listening impossible. Even putting it next to the receiver didn't change anything.

I have a 1Tb card, the M1P is fully charged by the way. It's playing fine on headphones, only the bluetooth doesn't work.

Do I have a defective unit or is it something that you also encountered?

Thanks for you help!

Got a similar problem like @Excession33:

the player is brand new, gifted to my partner (along with iems). We opened the box on Sunday. Originally, out of the box screen said "Please insert SD/USB" and did not start when pressing the Power On/Off button. I thought it might not be charged sufficiently and thus charged it off the mains with the cable. After a while, the player was fully charged (green bar full-length), I pressed the Power button and it started fine. We put a brand new Sandisk card in, ex-FAT-formatted, and the player displayed and played the songs fine. My partner was wowed by the sound! After 10-15 minutes, she switched the player off and stowed it in the box, as I had ordered an Aune case for it and she didn't want to use it without the case. About an hour later, when we checked the player the screen was no longer black (from after switch-off) but screen said "Can't find update.dat" in red font, and again Power button was unresponsive, despite holding it for 5-10 seconds. When taking the SD card off, screen reverted to "Please insert SD/USB". Also, on plugging USB-C onto the mains it doesn't show the green charging bar. Basically, it goes back and forth between these two screens, depending on whether the SD card is in or out and continues to be unresponsive to any button, including pressing the power button for 5-10 secs.

I made a video for @AuneAudio, but in response they insisted I try a new SD card and press the power button for long, which I'm going to do tomorrow morning. Anybody had something similar and managed to troubleshoot? Any relevant advice welcome and thanks in advance.

Further to my post above, @AuneAudio advised a long press and hold of the Power button for restart (same as some people in this thread have said). If you ever need to do this because the device is unresponsive, pls. bear in mind it may take several attempts of holding Power button for 10s-15s before the device finally (suddenly) starts and responds. That is what happened with this DAP in any case, where after being totally unresponsive over 4-5 attempts, it suddenly started and now it seems to be working properly, with both my partner's SD card and my own SD card. It's a relief!

N.B. Anybody can advise how to update FW on this device (e.g., which file extension is the update in and what steps to take from the menu)? Help would be much appreciated.

you put the update.dat in the root folder and then in settings there's 'System Update' entry.

Download the update file from their website. Extract the files (it includes instructions). Take the dat file, put it on your micro sd card and then update from the player's settings menu.

Hi all, thanks again for the help with updating FW. I noticed on the pdf manual that it showed Line-out functionality, but the menu doesn't show anything relevant. Can anybody confirm this DAP does or does not have Line-out output. Thanks.

it does not. they wanted to put in pseudo line out but decided against it.
