I must give it a try today! Are you finding M1p a reasonable upgrade on the M1s? My main frustration is the need to turn it off to avoid picking it up a few hours later and find it warm & dead
Sound wise : yes
The m1p is an even more transparent, detailled, refined, balanced, dynamic, vivid (...) version of the m1s. Which is a real feat of strengh. Call me impressed.
With this :
Aune "M1p - LF filter" + Aure Audio "Ringo" ("Canal Works 肉球 Gel Narrow Bore" L tips / EA "Ares S Founders Edition - 4/10" 8-wires balanced cable)
My personal endgame. This ticks 100% of all my boxes.
Ergonomically wise : no
The m1s, with its two buttons near the main control button, was (is) essentially perfect. The fact of having removed these 2 buttons on the m1p, is a real setback...
Turn off the gear : it was already the case with the m1s, so...
So not a concern for me, as the system reaches its cruising temperature very quickly.
Some bugs, however, to be corrected.
For example, the bluetooth sometimes turns on because you have pressed the main control button at the bottom for too long... to normally do a "favorite track", instead.
However, it has happened several times that the DAP then... hangs. With obligation to restart. There is a sort of freeze... I don't know if the same phenomenon occurs with the "no Bluetooth" version.
Also, mine at each boot does a full scan of the SD card. Never the m1s. It only takes a few seconds (it's really an hyper fast operation ; 128 go SD card), but I don't understand the point.
Apart from its few annoying points, and therefore this decline in ergonomics, it's really flawless, and especially from a sound and musical point of view.
If you are looking for an essentially transparent and balanced and vivid, and colourless (but full of colors, textures, etc.) DAP : repeat, this is it.
