I'm trying Audirvana Plus 3 after getting notified of the availability today.

Complete crap. Buggy as hell. Crash after crash, songs freeze, skip, software locks up. I'm coming from Version 2 with NO issues. I would recommend waiting if you were considering the upgrade.

Audirvana Plus 3.0 came out on March 8th. That was 2 1/2 months ago. It has been through several revisions and is now at version 3.0.6. It is quite stable and works well.

You might need to start your library again from scratch, especially if you synced from iTunes.

Likewise! Completely stable on Mac with El Capitan. Works beautifully with the remote app too btw. Triggers less CPU activity than Tidal which is s bonus.... quiet even with MQA...

Totally without problems here, clean installation on new MacBook Pro with Sierra. Sounds superior to 2.6.x. Only issue is that "direct mode," which is unique to Audirvana, cannot be used under Sierra because Apple has locked down the audio kext file. There's a workaround, but you need to really be comfortable working with Terminal and system files.

Exactly...I've had mine installed since March 8th and it has been absolutely brilliant!

I had a problem with Audirvana Plus not reading my iTunes library. Turned out that because I'd run the same library through half-a-dozen or so versions of iTunes that it was corrupt. I had to export all my playlists, delete my iTunes Library (the database files) and have it build a library from scratch. After importing all my playlists again, Audirvana could ready my library with no problems.

I have tried it (free version 3.2.6) few days, very stable, no problems from my 8 years old white Macbook. I wish I got it earlier, it is very large upgrade from playing thru itune or Tidal straight, very very good indeed, those subtle voice and breath are much apparent thru Audirvana. I will pay the full version after trial period for sure. I did not compare it to other software like Roon, anyone can tell me if Ronn or other are better, or I just stick to Audirvana....

Roon sounds better from around Feb 2018 IMO. I was a solid Audirvana+ fanboy, and used V3 till the time I tried (again) Roon. And the later build of it definitely sounds better. It also has Audeze built EQ correction for my LCD4s, and the interface is first class. Game over then....

Well I'm having some issues with Audirvana. So far 2 drop outs.
I started using Roon due to better UI and multi room streaming capabilities. However when I got the news of new Audirvana version, I updated mine and as soon as I played 1st song, I realized that SQ wise Audirvana is way better then Roon. No question. My brain was burned in with Roon and Audirvana was like welcome change and improved music experience in everyway. However every now and then there is drop while streaming to my digione signature player. If I take direct digital out from MB 2013 it works fine. It's only while streaming there is drop every ow and then.
I never had drop issue with Roon or thru airplay with digione. However it is based on 2 days of experience. Will report back in case it gets persistent. I'm not running anything taxing on my system except audirvana and not using any DSP or upsampling as well.
