He surely meant to write "thread". In any case, I'm sort of getting to the point where I don't really care what anyone else owns.:relaxed:
I like to exchange experiences with others about the gear they own or have auditioned.

For me that is part of the Hobby.

I am however at the point where I don't have the urge to buy the gear I talk about, perfectly happy with my own.

As soon as I don't want to exchange/read opinions on other gear I will leave head-fi altogether, since what would be the point in sticking around then

I'd argue collecting DACs is more practical than collecting speakers

Just to clarify, speakers of course take way more space, but along with cans they change sound the most. By naming these products as 'practical' I meant their highest impact on what we hear :)

In that case I totally agree.

Of course, but in the appropriate forum.

Exchanging experiences is the primary raison d'etre of the forum, of course, and there are literally hundreds of threads in which to do so. That said, once I've heard gear for myself, anything I read is of secondary importance. At this point, Head-Fi serves more of an entertainment vs. a utility function for me. As such, I certainly don't get perturbed if someone chooses not to reveal or discuss whatever they might currently own.

I always disclose what I own. It just so happens for the purpose of this conversation I decided to be obstinate, based on some of the comments, I feel the urge to be a pain in the ass. I think this is one of the 12 steps. 🤣

Finding out what another’s take on a response is the main function of Head-Fi; that and advertising. It seems learning another’s headphone ideas can have use when both of your purchase have paralleled though out the years. At times purchasers will migrate like birds in flight.........gathering identical purchases. Along with that is the ability for Head-Fi to disseminate new product profiles and purchasing avenues. We wait for one to take one for the team, then read the fall-out.

If anything it still is a mystery, as to headphone perception. Individual members which could come off as bass heads in fact have a coupe of bass lightweight offerings that they truly love. It’s a hobby and a pastime. Though it may have kept me out of the pokey a couple of times when I was young?

A member in denial.

There! I fixed that for you as a demo of what others can do with what you choose *not* to disclose. Besides I enjoy this new narrative better than the previous one:):):)

You wont find anything looking at posts. I'm pretty much shot with the hobby. I guess for the purposes of this thread, I OD'd.

I'm not finding the enjoyment anymore. Maybe in the Fall.
Same thing happened to me with pc gaming. I just put it all down. I can relate to losing enjoyment with hobbies. You can always come back in the future

Taking a break from a hobby that's not enjoyable any longer is probably the best way how to move forward. As you wrote, one can always come back :)

Have you ever felt a need to continuously upgrade your setup, even though it’s already amazing?
yes and no, yes when there are better items out there, quote and quote better that is, no is when funds ran out, or when I can mentally be thankful for what I got.

Do you find yourself wanting to buy new headphones, even though the ones you have are TOTL?
Not for me because I like having only one headphone which is VERY unpopular stance on this forum. I like having one headphone simply because I can listen to all my music and have a good reference point for all my gear changes, changing headphones often AND gear will make me go insane as my reference points be all messed up.

though this was mentioned to be a judge free zone, I feel like someone is judging me right now. haha.
