Thanks ! I think I need a good Roon Core machine more than this Naim Atom .Try using Uniti as your UPnP Server to your HUB.
If your HUB has the optional Analog XLR, Unit XLR Analog outs to HUB's XLR Analog ins.
If not, use Uniti in your bedroom/office, or you can give it to me..![]()

If you have NAS (or Tidal, Qobuz, a cloud server) you could use your phone or tablet as contoller to your HUB via UPnP. Like now using only my tablet via BubbleUPnP , playing a file from my NAS to HUB. No PC or other streamers involved.

Unfortunately my Nas unit just burned down ! Meanwhile IMac is the only one left to be a player but it’s always cut off for few seconds! Roon Nucleus or Innuos Zen will work with Hydra combo?

Think (since don't have it), both w/ Roon, Zen also with UPnP. Check it up.
Try a recent nuc i5 (11 on) as a roon rock!

As far as I understand it, with DSD Direct On, all DSD content will NOT be upsampled or filtered by the Hydra and the Hydra will then act as a NOS Dac.OK. so I think if set the DSD DIRECT on, maybe the music is upsampled twice (by hub and by VOX).
This works very well if using Hqplayer to upsample to DSD256/512.
Please note that you can only send DSD512 to the Hydra if running Hqplayer NAA on windows as the Hydra only supports DSD512 natively while using the Windows driver. This is a limitation of the firmware in the USB module ( which is probably an Amanero module ) in the Hydra.
I too use as NAS to store all my music! How about the Innuos Zen MK3 ? Use to be a Roon Core and Audiobyte as an end point. But both are not support external hard drive if I need to run my large amount music file, Nas still needs to set up with my system. Is it a good choice?
Roon Rock on a NUC as server, multiple endpoints for roon including the Audiobyte hub.
Didn't get you point on the support of external drive. I think the only issue is with ntfs formatted drives. Can you clarify what is the support issue?
Kr,
I hate to use my iMac as a Roon core it will slow down my internet surfing and always stop and go . Meanwhile I’m searching new place for Roon Core , Nas is a must because of my large number of audio files in an other hand high quality streamer also in my list but it needs to work with my hub perfectly.I too use as NAS to store all my music!

Kr,
With Roon and the Hub you can save on the network streamer forr now. Don't know if you already have s NAS or no, but some of them can be used as a Roon server also, at least som of the QNAPs ones.
You mean Hub with Innous are double feature? All I need is a quite Qnap HS-453DX to be a Roon Core or Roon Rock? With Roon and the Hub you can save on the network streamer forr now. The Hub is also a nice streamer.

I think the Celeron of that NAS would be short for Roon, probably I would look for a better spec NAS with a more powerful processor if I'd want to run Roon server and other VMs in there. You mean Hub with Innous are double feature? All I need is a quite Qnap HS-453DX to be a Roon Core or Roon Rock?
As for Innuos and Hub, Hub as a network endpoint connected to a DAC, Hydra or other, can upsample up to dsd512 ot 758khz. Other inputs are, coax, optical, USB l, aes. Output only spif and i2s.
Is the innuos just to run as a roon server? That the Hub cannot do! The Innuos is also made with audio in mind, can also act as a very good server and endpoint.
In resume you have different paths to reach the same goal, it is all a question of taste and deepness of pockets
There are 3 option on my table, Roon Nucleus, Innuos Zen and Qnap HS-453 . Innuos and Hub carried many same feature and it's most expensive one, Nucleus should be the best company with Hub and Qnap is the most saving money.I think the Celeron of that NAS would be short for Roon, probably I would look for a better spec NAS with a more powerful processor if I'd want to run Roon server and other VMs in there.

I tried most of these combinations. Currently, I separate the Roon core (fanless NUC PC running Linux and Roon Rock software) from the music files (Synology 4-bay NAS), and use various Roon endpoints (such as the Hub) around the house to stream to DACs and speakers. In theory, Roon Nucleus should probably be a better (and neater) solution for the Roon core, but I could not detect the difference in sound compared to my NUC PC housed inside the Acasa fanless case, so I invested more in DACs (Rockna Wavedream, Holo Audio May) and cables. In my experience, NAS performed poorly as a Roon core, a dedicated NUC PC or Roon Nucleus were much better.
The forthcoming Rockna Wavalight Server promises to combine the streamer and Roon core into one unit, but I am curious about the performance and looking forward to tesitng it. When you read Roon white papers, they clearly recommend separating the core from the streamer for best performance, but maybe this advice is outdated.
Due to my large amount of music file, NAS should be a MUST in my system, so I properly going to Qnap HS-435 DX and install the Roon Rock software on the VM .
