I wonder why there's input / outputs and stuff on both sides?  You kinda of have to have it sitting sideways - or i'm I missing something.

You are right. That is kind of annoying. It sits sideways at me too.

Nice picture CChang. What is that USB cable? What is your experience with Hydra and USB cables? 

The USB cable is Acoustic Revive PLS. It is the best I own yet. Simply closer to real music. Better than my previous own Oyaide 5S and Supra USB. Supra is in very good value for money though.
Having said that, I find the discontinued Locus Axis sound closer to real music than the Acoustic Revive PLS. not a large margin but is noticeable. This short shot up was conducted a while ago at Audiobyte dealer here in Hong Kong.
