Looking forward to receiving my CKN70's any day now. Nice to hear all the positive feedback for these phones.

What's the bass quantity like on the ckn70 compared to CKM500?
As a basshead, will it satisfy my big sub bass needs? Also does the bass suck up the midrange? I love my musical mids and sparkly highs but I need big bass to be satisfied.

I have the CKN50's and the bass quantity is slightly less compared to the CKM500 that I owned in the past. The bass is tighter and more controlled on the 50's, better quality mids and high end.

Thanks! That's good to know.
But to be honest, I'm more interested in the CKN70. For the price though, I might have to find out myself. It'd be 'replacing' so to speak my CKM500s which i still love to this day, but the J-cable is more what I need for work, not a split 0.6m Y-cable.
I'm still awaiting my VSonic GR07 BE from another head-fier for my FXZ200s; Size, comfort, weight, and general 'discreteness' were the factors that made the trade an easy decision. Considering all those factors, the CKN70 has piqued my interest for it's size and J-cable, and I kind of really love the orbital silicon stabilizing ring.
Will the CKN70 fit into my repertoire of IEMs?

Should be receiving my 70's any day now. I bought the 50's just to get an idea of what to expect from the 70's.

Ah sorry, I just noticed that no one has really recieved the 70's quite yet.
If the CKN70 has equal or more bass to the CKM500 while still being all around more refined, then I'm sold.
I'll be waiting for impressions/comparisons anxiously

I usually am not a fan of ATH's house sound but I'm wondering if I should give the CKN70 a try.

Just received mine today. You should definitely try them. All the positive hype really validates the SQ on these phones.

You won't be disappointed in ordering the 70's. The FXD80's are great phones too.

Oh I know. I absolutely loved the FXD80. I killed my pair by letting one of the earpieces fall into a cup of water.
Incidentally anyone want an FXD80 with one working earpiece? Lol.

i realize this is a shot in the dark, but i'm in the market for a new pair of iem's and having a hard time after my vsonic gr07's died. does anyone in this thread happen to have heard the gr07's and can they relate them to the ath-ckn70's? i've also had the sony mh1c, which are another microdriver set, so a comparison to those could work as well. and i was considering buying the vsonic vc02's as a cheap temp set, which are also microdrivers. i'm also slightly interested in the hifiman re-400's and the tdk ie800's if anyone has those and can compare, haha. thanks a bunch.
