So, are you going to compare them?
I Already Did it , I have tons of info about the comparison lol.
It's funny because I wanted to make it fair for AD2000, So I used original AD2000 pads on both(I used both ad2000 pair of earpads with AD2000 and they seemed to sound the same, one is totally new ordered from AT, the other is "used" but it seems almost new to be honest, it even still smells like a new product =) .
I have an old set of pads of AD2000X and a new one, but the new set of earpads sounds much better than the old one(can't be sure it's for being old), so it's not fair when doing A/B , I do A/B because audio memory is not that good, you have to compare them in the moment for the "best" results.
I have evidence Audio Technica did a revision to the AD2000X earpads, now they seem as comfortable as the lower AD line.
I have TONS of info about both pairs.
Does the AD2000 earpads are responsible for AD2000 "Magic mids"?
What happens when AD2000x uses AD2000 pads and vice versa?
People noticed ad2000 had smaller soundstage, Can you manage to increase the size of the stage and keep the profile when using other original AT earpads?
Speed about both, is one of them faster?
Well, lots of questions, I have the answer for that and much more.
Earpads for sure make a difference , when people compared 2000x to 2000 or viceversa they were comparisons with their respective earpads, but comparing them with other earpads it's another world, and it's more work and time(and money!!! , those AD2000 earpads are relatively expensive, and hard to get if you not live in USA) for the person that is doing the work.
Would also like to trown AD1000X and AD1000PRM and It would be the most elaborate comparison of the AD line of all times.
Sadly AD1000PRM is expensive to get... I had an eye in one but it would be like 650+usd and at least driver quality might not be as good as ad2000/ad2000x, very close but more like a collectors item.
