Heheh! It is great that this is the second time in this thread that someone has mentioned the Sonorous X. I recall @Piotr Michalak did as well. It is Takai San’s masterpiece before he left us. Similarly for his gorgeous Lab 2 and the Pianoforte range. :) Yes, totally agree with you!
Only a few people like us appreciate these masterpieces. Cheers and merry Christmas!

Audio Technica woodies are all masterpieces.
Every single one is amazing. From VTG10 to W11R to W2002 to L3000/L5000 and W3000ANV and the newer ones AWAS/AWKT.

Learn everything from these headphones, from distortion to coloration and shell types that can change sound flavors. These headphones really show what euphoria is, what is genuinely a coloration sound to a neutral sound.

Some of the best coloration, musical headphones are pretty much all AT woodies.
Example, only the W2002 can do what it can and that's legendary.

As I progress with my journey with the L5000, I do appreciate what It brings to the table. In fact out of the SAEQ Hyperion Ge, I find that it is not quite as bight as some have claimed and I do enjoy the nuanced presentation of the music I am not even troubled by the ear pads which has been panned by some. I have found the optimal position for that as well.

My experience with the AWKT, AWAS and now the L5000 has me ready to explore the rest of the woodies. I hope to have the W3000ANV over from Yahoo JP. Slight hiccup as it transited in Hong kong to find that it was shut down for Boxing Day. It should land in Singapore today. Still very quick even if DHL embarrassed about the one day delay in HK.

I also hope to find the W10VTG in custody in the coming week as well. Still looking at a W11R which the previous owner has modded to have two entry points using the current A2DC connectors.

The journey truly begins. :)

Speaking of the W3000ANV, see what the nice DHL man delivered today from Yahoo JP auctions. :)

Just plugged into the SAEQ Hyperion Ge, fed by the Shanling ET-3 upsampled and into the Holo Spring 3 KTE via I2S. Gorgeous sounds… It will be a long evening here near the Equator…

After some time with the W3000ANV, I will say the lush side of the ATH house is something that I will definitely explore further. It is wonderful for vocals generally. The richness of tonality cannot be beat! In terms of comfort, it sits very nicely on my head. For that I am grateful, especially after reading how some folks have issues with fit. :)

Courtesy of a lovely care package, which had other items as well, from @Uncle Wilson and Jaben SG: behold the AW-KG Naru! :)

That wood.. like an ominous dark cloud engulfing the skies 🌒
It is amazing that natural occuring wood can have such patterns. It looks very much like what the Chinese and Japanese have for landscape paintings using just ink.

I am still wrapping my head around the sound signature, being relatively new to the ATH house sound. I will say that it is not as unapologetically lush as the W3000ANV and not at the other end like the L5000 is. It is early days still and the driver will take a bit of time to settle down. :)

Finally the ATH W10VTG from Yahoo Japan made it across with the delivery run of DHL today. :)

Gosh! The W10VTG is lush indeed! I now have the measure of the woodies. I reckon that that the AW-KG Naru would be considered neutral as it is on the slightly warmer side of neutral.

Enjoying the W10VTG for a while before I return to the AW-KG Naru. The W10VTG is sounds so good for something that was first released almost 30 years ago.

Ah, you reach the pinnacle of coloration.

So yeah, I like Audio technica VTG10 more than Sony R10, L3000,L5000, all stax gear, HE90 and plywoodman crap and abyss nonsense. 😆

The original coloration king. The complete opposite of Harman Curve, the lushest of all lushest.
