Hi,

I just buy ATH-IM50 and wondering if anybody here have suggestion for ear tips replacement that can make the ATH-IM50 sounds closer to / like ATH-M50X?

Thank You

Check this one. They enhance the bass and treble.

I just got my IM50 in the mail today so this is my pre-burn in review.

The IM-50 sounds a bit harsh for now, but here's hoping that the burn-in will help a bit. Tried the comply tips but didn't really like them, and did I mention that they stick together?

On the plus side, the vocals are incredibly clear and the soundstage seems wide enough. A bit more bass would be great, but I really don't want to use the foam tips...

The harshness will settle down. I got the best bass with the comply tips. They are foam though. Kind of tames the treble as well. A all around good set of phones though.

Can anyone summarize what are the best tips for the IM50? The lone bore neck is making it frustrating.

UE600, 3590 and Jvc spiral dots tips work well for me.

I just ordered the SpinFit Tips off of ebay for $10. From the reviews it can rotate 360 degrees in your ear allowing better seal. Since it rotate it will be snug deep in there xD. So far I am waiting for my tips to come in also my im-50's should be here around next week or so.

This is how Dual Symphonic Drivers look like. Enjoy

There is a magnet between the drivers. Actually two magnets; the second one is behind the second driver under the soldering plate.

Really want to buy IM50 (because IM70 a bit steep for my pocket) but compared to M40x (other than one is ultra portable and the other is not easily used for portable), how good is IM50? I already have M40x and I thought that if IM50 is not as good as M40x, I will may go with IM70 (but need to wait for several months before I can get that... remember, a bit steep). I can't get the demo at the store near my house, so perhaps someone can give me quick summary about the comparison of the sound. Thanks.

I've had the IM70 for about a year and I recommended the IM50 to my cousin as he also didn't want to spend so much. we met up and swapped and we both thought they were so similar that we don't think the IM70 is worth double the cost. You could probably tell the difference sitting there A-B-ing them for a few hours but otherwise I thought they were very similar.
My first full-size headphone was the M50 ... and I'm not really sure if they are similar to the M40x .. but it never really gave me a 'wow' factor. however, the IM70 is one of the few iems where my friends come over to try and it is always the one that people love and sat 'wow' ... the IM50 and 70 is a very powerful sounding iem and I can't see many people not liking them. Great vocals, nice bass.

Wow, if it's that similar, I may go right away buying IM50 from the online store... And yeah M50 is not similar as M40x has flatter sound signature (in my opinion) but lack a little bit of detail, and a bit lighter on the head compared to M50. Thanks for your reply, Joey99! I hope this one can complement my M40x on the road when I can't really use that heavy cans around and end my endless journey to find under-100-dollar-similar-to-my-m40x-IEM. :D
