This headphone is just way too beautiful to not have it's own thread.

Hopefully, A-T will eventually make a non-limited-edition version of this gorgeous headphone.

Price is so high high. I remember getting the L3000 for around $1600 in 2005. So much has changed in headphones audio since then.

I want one. I’m a sucker for good looking wooden closed backs. I just need some sound impressions before spending $9K.

100 is such a limited number, I wouldn't be surprised if these sell out quick. Wasn't that the case with the L5000 whose $4k price was considered steep at the time? Hopefully, they reach the ears of serious audio enthusiasts, as opposed to wealthy collectors that treat it more as an art piece/status symbol. Can't wait to read impressions!

I budgeted myself 5k for a potential new AT flagship this fall. These are highway robbery. Any word on other new AT cans this year? I know it was suggested they had a new open back flagship coming this fall as well.

Nah, it’s still a lot. There’s that $12K Spirit Torino that was limited to 100 pairs which you can still buy (it’s been like 2 years).

Then there were only 100 sapphire blue th900 mk2s that were made but I was able to buy a new pair in year 2 (and that’s “only” a $1500 pair of headphones)

Remember these?! :sunglasses:

The ATH-W2020's are chump change compared to the Focal Utopia by Tournaire. $100,000 plus another $10,000 if you wanted the matching stand!!:fearful::money_mouth:

I paid retail for my L5000 in April 2019 in the US. At that point, they had been out for a few months: availability was low in Japan and some other countries, but I didn't feel like I needed to rush my order in the US. I'd say the L5000 were fairly reasonably obtainable for about 6 months or so after release.

As for the W2022... if they were $5,000 and limited to 100 units, they'd probably sell out almost instantly. We'll see how long they last at $9,000.
