Hi, new MSR7 owner here,
biggrin.gif

finally after lurking here and there for about a year, I made my purchase today. compare to MDR 1A, I like this headphone more, some songs (mostly EDM) is better on the MDR 1A, but majority of my playlist (Metal, Rock and Jazz) is very nice on MSR7. like Devin Townsend's Juular and Grace, the bass sound overwhelming on MDR 1A for but it's can be hear clearly with enough quantity on MSR7 it's more enjoyable imho

Also i have a question if anyone knows a high-quality cable at a reasonable price to replace the stock one for my headphones ? I have seen the Anker ones but i really don't know how good they are in terms of sound quality. I know there is the AudioQuest audio cables but cost too much and probably are too thick to use with the headphones.Thank you

The more i look for a high-quality jack-to-jack male cable for my headphones the more i get confused. So what i have found already is:
 - Sentey LS-6620
 - Wireworld Pulse J2J
 - QED Profile J2J stepped jack
 - Audioquest Tower
 - Audioquest Evergreen
 - Audioquest Golden Gate
 - Anker 3.5mm Nylon Braided
I know for sure the quality of the cable has a great influence over sound hence my persistence in finding a very good one but at a decent price. So far i am inclined towards QED and AudioQuest but i need some advice from someone who might know more about it. Thank you

The headband starts crumbling after heavy usage in  1.5 year, so I covered it

Part of the reason why I've not pulled the trigger on the THX00 is because the pleather used on that one is too similar to the msr7, and the pleather used on the msr7 crumbled too fast for me :frowning2:

Tried these out in a store and my impression was that these sound effortless and balanced.

They are very mature, extended across the spectrum and nothing is very emphasized, I would call them the non-boring neutrals.

Very good detail and realistic average soundstage.
