Hi I've been using my Bose around-ears for a while and am now looking for a better pair of headphones to replace them.  Yes I know that many people do not like Bose for their overpriced values but I did not know better back then and now I am back with more awareness and looking for another pair of headphones.

I've been researching around the forums and I've been getting that the ATH-M50's is what I'm looking for.  But I'm not sure if they would be better than the Bose I have now and want to get some opinions from the community.  Are there any other viable headphones I should consider buying to be an "upgrade" from my Bose around-ears.  My budget will be around $100-150

My source will be mainly my iTouch and laptop.  I recently purchased a pair of Thinksound Rains and like the sound of them.

Thanks for any feedback/opinions!

For closed headphones at that price range look at: SRH840, M50, M-Audio Q40.

Open headphones, look at: MS1, SR80, AD700, HD595
