How do they justify that $9000 price tags? The L5000 seems to have better build quality. Only 100 made?

Super excited. Beautiful, and love the art. Been contemplating selling most of my gear and settling on a few special pieces to retire from this hobby with. If the sound is there, this definitely fits the bill. It may also be a worthwhile "investment" as the anniversary models have held their value even after decades, compared to my current gear which will only depreciate.

This deserves its own thread.

Current pricing is unobtanium for mere mortals like myself, unless I sell most of my gear.
Audio Technica is legendary why not.
You already have the greatest headphone on you Onkyo A800 :)

I'd love to try them. The price tag is just too unwarranted, especially given that type of premium price is outside of AT's historical wheelhouse. I do think the impressions I've seen are intriguing, but I'll never get to own them which is unfortunate.
