as much as i want to describe the sound, the sound is unique. I will sum up simply. Bright and smooth for my tracks

i'm a little confused, so E40 is quite a mid centric AND bright V shape?

its very hard to describe the sound. very unique.
its like dn1000 that is vshaped but isnt vshaped, in the middle

How about v-shaped with prominent, non-thin, non-distant sounding mids, @Replicant187?

I wouldn't call the E40 bright or v-shaped IMO... It is pretty balanced in bass/mids/treble, just very forward in all frequencies. Think of it as having the bass and treble of a v-shaped IEM, but at the same time having the mids of a mid-centric IEM.

tight bass or boomy? Good stage and imaging? Is it upgrade to trinity atlas?

how bout the ckr9ltd? These better in any way?

Very very similar, except that E40 is slightly less refined and smooth. A slight decrease in soundstage size as well. On the plus side, bass punches a little harder, mids a little more forward than the CKR9LTD, but we're talking minor differences here. The E40 definitely still carries the lively, vibrant and energetic signature that made the CKR9LTD sound so good.
