idk about the 'entire IM series', but I've heard a fair number of IEMs and IM02 are still one of my favorites (though they did not fit me well  and I'd probably have preferred the ck90 shape).

there is zero or slight improvement over the ck90 for the im02. the rest really unwhelming IMO, hoping the new e series is better

Ok question. I know the E40 have dual phase push-pull drivers but when i e-mailed audio technica to ask the size of the driver they replied this:

I'm confused, do they have two drivers in each side or is it only one that has some kind of mechanism that they call dual-phase?

Thanks in advance.

According to audio technica's Japanese website, the E40 has 2 x 12.5mm dynamic drivers. So yeah, dual drivers.

the strength of the e40 is its soundstage, very very wide and will provide an immersive experience.
quite a mid centric iem and sub bass is addictive. Treble extension is very well ( Im a treble head)
the cons are the details retrieval which isn't accurate. Bright and immersive sounding iem.
Definitely a good buy! Though it may be priced at 99 usd, however, i rate it at 299 usd. I am not sure how ath pulls off it but this iem is worthy of a buy.

Haha congrats on your purchase! Yup I went to Stereo last weekend to demo the E-series again. Was equally impressed by E70 and E40, the E70 for its technical ability and E40 for pure musicality and enjoyment.

Thinking of getting an e40 sometime in the future. Started out as a AT fanboy so it feels weird to not own an AT earphone currently. :p

i have never been a fan of audio technica. Only the CK and E series have impressed me to date
