Those racks do look nice, I really like the look of the Lovan Legacy, but they are over the desired budget :-/ If it was at least around 120ish, I'd grab one.

You can do it, but trust me that all the DIY racks I have seen till now, looked horrible in comparison to the cheapest commercial one you can get. At least to me, please try to buy one and do not waste time on doing it, shelves is the less important part, you can evne get them already done, the rest is the problem, legs holders, spacers, etc...with the proper finish are not so easy to find...and at the end, you will spend almost the same and work like an animal to do it....

There are many many many different kinds of stuff you can buy with as many shelves as you need.

I am myself using a 16$ TV stand for my rig and it's fairly durable (not made out of cheap pressed-wood). You could even stack 2-3 of those atop of each other.

They are good, I have seen them in Harvey electronics, they carry them, but IMO they are overpriced, they tend to be more like fashion, than really functional...but IMO you can get similar quality of manufacture, for less from other brands...
