Ahaa, good to know. Thanks for the reply!
Might look into the 2.32 then since I have the extra cash..

Does the DIR9001 apply to the USB aswell?

No DIR9001 only work for s/pdif input (coax/optical) usb is handled by "USB-32 chip"

you can read about this chip here : http://www.audio-gd.com/Pro/dac/USB32/USB32EN.htm

Take a little time to familiarize with Audio GD site , their is information , and if not enough ask here at head fi or directly to Audio GD .

Has anyone used the NFB-2 with a tube amp like the Bottlehead Crack or
maybe the Woo WA6. If so how was the synergy.

If I missed this some where in this post sorry.

I'm a little confused - I haven't really heard any reviews of the NFB 2.32 or 3.32. Are they the same sound signature with the added option of upsampling to a greater rate?

not upsampling , but filters in DAC (oversampling 2x/4x/8x , linear phase , minimun phase etc http://www.audio-gd.com/Pro/dac/NFB2.1/NFB2.1EN_Use.htm ) in late NFB-2 /NFB-3 there was jumper to change that , after they get it more convenient in placing it in butons on front .(NFB-2.1/3.1) , and NFB-2.2/3.2 they just changed usb for te tenor te8802 , and changed again for a via chip currently in use , sound signature is the same than the odlder models .

Ohhh okay, thanks for the response. I was confused since this thread has dropped off recently. I guess essentially they are still the same

Just looked on audio-gd web and saw that the 3.33 is announced with r-core on promo.
So there is hardly any difference bwtween this and the 2.32.

Both also have the same number of inputs, So maybe the 2.32  is also due an upgrade...

I am planning on getting the 3.33 n the usb converter as well. That should enable me to run coax from macbook to the DIR9001. With a warm tube amp, this DAC should pair well.

I'm going to order the NFB-3.33, but there is something that I don't quite understand when I got the quote for the price. "We will mark the value USD120  (exclude shipping cost)   on the invoice for customs, if you want declare different value please inform ." What does this exactly mean? I live in Finland currently and to my understanding, we tell the payed price of the product when paying for the customs.

They declare less on the invoice so that the customer pays less for customs. But they can invoice the full value if you ask for it. It doesn't matter if you are going to inform the customs of the real price.
