As I need only a DAC I'm changing my order to NFB-3, but will be looking here to see comparisons and opinions on this product's sound.

3, Or if change the order, can get 5% off. For example, change to order the NFB-3, price is USD285 (had got 5% off) 4, Or if change the order, the money increase 10%. For example, if you had pay USD300 (NFB-11 + shipping cost), change to other order, the USD300 become USD330.

I don't really understand the forth point ?

Waiting ? getting the Fun + Opa Earth ? or getting a balanced NFB-10WM ?

I want the #3 option with the 5% off another product.

I just sent an email that I am ready to wait as long as it takes, the NFB-11 has all the features that I need at a price that is simply unbelievable, I do hope(and know) that there will be a resolution to the problem and it is usually for the better.

Interested to see what other people are doing here.

Personally, I'm happy to wait a week or so. I've waited a few weeks now anyway, what's another one?

In any case I'll probably feed it with SPDIF instead of USB.

You have to wonder if ESS wasn't trying to make USB a difficult option from the get go....of course I'm sure they have a perfectly valid technical reason for choosing such a clock frequency, thing is with the NDA on the actual inner workings of this chip we'll never know what that explanation entails.

I'm sure Kingwa and A-gd will come up with a solution.......(with help from the ESS engineering team I hope).

I'll probably pull the trigger and swap to an NFB-2 instead. It's not that I'm impatient or that I don't have faith in Kingwa, but I really only need a DAC and now have a little more money to play with -> 5% off helps.

I can't help but wonder about his numbers though. If you wanted to change your order you can either get 5% off another item, or get your 300 increased to 330. If you buy anything under $600 it works out better to use option 4.

If you only need a DAC, definitely just buy a DAC not a combo unit IMO.

I totally agree with this suggestion.

I only needed a dac, but decided to go NFB-10WM because of the possibility to use variable balanced outputs...

I think no other dac-only component from Audio-Gd has this option and often balanced outputs are too hot to connect to my amp, aren't they?

Yes. I have the NFB-1 and its XLR output is too hot for my Yamaha A-S2000 amp. I have to use a TE Electriic Pilot Level to tune down the NFB-1 output. I am very happy with the sound quality from the NFB-1, even after the attenuator.

The NFB-10 is a perfect DAC/Preamp combo except the lacking of remote control. It is a even better value considering you only have to buy a power amp at later stage for system upgrading.

Hi borrego,

Yes it was YOUR posts, now I remind, that mentioned certain problems with fixed high level outputs

This helped me to decide for a variable level option! Thanks for that... hope I made the right choice
