Audio-gd NFB-10

I'm actually thinking of picking up the Schiit Gungnir and Mjolnir combo. The buttons on my NFB-10SE tend to become nonreponsive if the unit is left on for too long. I've been getting around the problem by running the thing at max volume and using my PC to lower the line volume. That works fine for my HE-6, but causes some background noise in my HD 800. I'll probably get it packed up and sent back for repairs in the next week or so.

You should send it in for a check. I have not experienced this problem with my 10SE. Also, if you reduce the volume on your PC, I believe this degrades the sound quality as the music will not be playing bit perfect.

Ya, me too. You should put 100% max volume on your pc, and then adjust the volume through the 10SE.

The power button on the 10SE just left it turns on, don't press and press again while you turn on your power supply.

Got around to sending my 10SE back to Kingwa for repairs. I've also ordered a remote and an upgrade to the TE8022 while they're looking at it.

Unfortunately, It looks like I'm going to be down to a VRM Box and a XM6 for sources for the next 3 weeks. Not being able to use my HE-6 for that long is depressing. Plugged it into my VRM Box and it sounded like it had lost all clarity and most of it's bass impact.

Seemed to be some sort of overheating issue - button presses started to take a long time to register after the unit had been on for over 30 minutes. This was even if it was plugged in but not playing back music. It couldn't have been a ventilation issue as the top is completely uncovered. It was one of of the first NFB-10SE's (bought before the remote control was even an option), so that may have been something to do with it.

Kingwa was a great help and has agreed to upgrade the usb chip and add in a remote at the cost of upgrades to a new unit ($90) while it's in for repairs. I'm hoping that Audio GD opens up a US office like Hifiman so we can get a faster turnaround for both new orders and warranty service though.

there was a US distributer who also did warranty work until recently. All my AGD stuff is from them but they quietly severed their connection to AGD (I don't know what side initiated this).  I did ask what happened but did not get a reply,.

I too am interested to see the SQ improvement on TE8802 over TE7022 especially in the 24/96 or lower ranges which are most of my recordings are in. Any recommendations on getting 24/192 sources? Thanks a lot.

I have a NFB-10.2 on the way from Audio-gd with the TE8802 USB interface. I wanted to get a jump on installing it and tried to download the Windows drivers from the audio-gd web site. I cannot get the ZIP file to load-- even after trying on multiple PC's. Has anyone else had any luck with the drivers?  I wrote to Kingwa but he has not answered.
