Audio-gd DI-U8 Audio Interface (Xmos U8)

The DI-U8 will bring better results than going direct from your computer to Dac. Whether you connect via toslink or USB to the DI-U8 I'm not sure. You can try them and see. I've never tried toslink as a connector.

Thanks very much.  I'm curious to understand what really the DI-U8 is doing to the signal that makes an improvement.  I admit I don't understand digital jitter, etc.  It was pretty fun today to hook up a 1994 or so Sony D-335 Discman with optical out into the DI-U8, Headroom Triple Stack and balanced HD 800.  I found the Discman in my basement and thought I'd drop it into an open port.  A bit silly on the 16/44.1, but I suppose it's better than the MP3s a lot are using.

That's quite a stack you have all right. Enough breathing space for the DI-U8 there? It generates a lot of heat and needs to run between a specific temperature range to work properly.

Thanks!

I'll have to check on the heat. It didn't seem all that hot at last check, but I'll keep an eye on it and move as needed.

The XMOS driver on the Audio-gd site now has the Windows 10 digital signature.

It's still version 3.20.0 so no change there.  But it's a one click install now for Win 10 users.

Hi All
Audio GD specifies four different USB interfaces (USB-32, Amanero combo 384, Xmos U8, Xmos U208 since Nov 2016)
Is there any consensus regarding the above in the sense of "best audio" performance?
cheers, Mike
