I gave up, easy.

Going for JCAT NET Card XE. Canceled the order on ZS

So my question, which protokoll is better in theory?
USB or coax is better implementation on DI20-HE, or equal?
In theory there are different. But both coax and optical can equal USB when synchronised with external clock. According to a theory.

USB is asynchronous protocol and the timing is clocked by the ddc, dac (in my case the external master clock). So USB is independent from the source (streamer) clock.
Am I right?
Spdif is syncron, and the clock and data is packed into one signal.
Does Spdif more depend on the source (streamer) clock?

ZS -> - (SPDIF input- DI20HE - i2S and SPDIF output) - -> R8 or TT2

This makes sense. ZEN Stream outputs data over S/PDIF to your DI-20HE, which then sends it via I2S to your DAC. If I were you, at some point I'd have a think about a streamer that could directly send data over I2S to your DAC. Thanks!

I would really like convince myself to buy the NEO STREAM but Im not bypassing my DDC😊

Also does all(spdif, hdmi,) bypass the dac stage on the neostream?

I can understand that :)

Yes. To use NEO Stream as a DAC you'd have to use its line outputs. Otherwise it will work only as a streamer.

All correct. And yes, source clock is important for S/PDIF, this is the place the synchronous datastream is creacted. If you can synchronise source with external clock - and the receiver, then only quality of external clock matters.

Just received my DI20 non regenerator version, also received my PecanPI+ streamer/dac/with volume control. I installed the latest amanero driver but I can't seem to do 24/192 over acss coax, only 16/192. Should I try the rca coax output instead? or is there a setting I should alter? Either way and this ddc and dac sound amazing together and I haven't had to reset the DDC at all, it's been super stable. the dac has the new akm 4499exeq dual chip dac chip

I have RCA to BNC from Atlas cables, connected to the SPDIF/STD port on DI20HE and BNC to my TT2. While typing now Im listening to 24/192

However the ACSS should be superior

By the look of the streamer, it does have USB out. You may try USB out to the DI20, and I can confirm that a PiCoreplayer/Volumio/Moode OS with RPi based streamer can output 24/192 via USB to the DI20.
You may also want to check your cable whether it is within the impedance spec required.

Hi everyone.

I’ve got an Afterdark Queen clock which Im pretty sure is 75ohm.

My plan is to get a di20he in the near future.

Will there be disadvantages picking a 75ohm di20he instead of 50ohm? I’m aware that it has to match.

Will a 75ohm clock fail to clock on a 50ohm input? :) only asking because i want to check if my clock work.

Thank you in advance 🤗

I ordered a 75Ohm of the DI20HE Lhy outputs square in 75Ohm to my DI20HE R8HE MK2.

I ordered the 75Ohm option through magnahifi.

Thanks. Also what i have thought about 😊 but im wondering weather the 50ohm clocking is better sounding over the 75ohm, or the other way around. if there is some conclusions on some differences.

Aah you wanna know if it will be a obvious difference in sound clocking two different impedance 50/75?

No problem Gustard has made a "magic" cable(C2) that will solve all the problems. It has the adaptive design so 50 or 75....even 125Ohm yes yes.....SARCASM at its finest here...

My google searches.
"Every single time you have a mismatch in impedance, say between a 50 Ohm Coaxial Cable and a 75 Ohm Coaxial Connector (i.e. BNC), a standing wave develops. A standing wave is a signal reflection that is essentially wasted. Every time a 50 and 75 Ohm Impedance mismatch occurs, about 5% of the signal is lost."

"If the impedances aren't matched, maximum power will not be delivered. In addition, standing waves will develop along the line. This means the load doesn't absorb all of the power sent down the line."

The question is how noticeable are these differences in audio, thats what you are asking?
