Hey everyone,

I was wondering if connecting the computer soundcard (from the motherboard) with a 1/8 jack to a Pioneer Reciever to the CD input with (RCA) would enhance the audio.  I plan to use my ATH-m50s to plug into the Pioneer headphone jack.

Only if your computer output has a very high output impedance, in which case it distorts the frequency response and reduces the damping of your headphones. Otherwise no. You know the saying, "garbage in, garbage out".

Asus Xonar DX or D1 sound card (used $50) would have a much better DAC (CS4398), then whatever is built into your motherboard.
So you can use an analog connection from the Xonar to the Pioneer (3.5mm to RCA cable)
And if your Pionner has optical input, you can always try an optical cable connection.
