Well, the price here in Norway is still quoted as NOK 5990 = US 566 - and availability here is still uncertain.

In this new video Chris B tells us that the MM-100 is now finally shipping in it's final form. I hope this means that the errors reported by adopters here earlier have all been taken care of by now?

Shipping faulty cans back and forth from here to LA could turn into a costly nightmare - and when could replacement cans be expected to show up here?

Does anyone know what came in the little cut out between the headphones in the foam insert in the box?
I believe the cable was inside the box (in the cut out)...😉

I always take a pic of my headphones when I open the box and I went back to September to find the pics and I show nothing in my original pics if you mean this little cutout here:

At one point the headphones were supposed to come with an adapter for the cable. It probably went into that slot in the center of the padding. Either that or the whole package needed to lose a few grams for shipment and taking it out of the center padding wouldn’t affect its security.

Willing to bet they are just using the same foam insert that comes in the Maxwell box. That cutout is where the USB dongle goes.

I just consulted my picture from June 23 when I received my Maxwells, and can see that you are spot on: 🤓

Sorry if it’s been asked before, but anyone tried pad rolling these? How would you apply them, and would ZMF pads work? I accidentally ordered some solid pads for my Auteur a while ago and haven’t had a purpose for them.

The MM-100 is not wired like standard dual sided 3.5mm cables, so you'll need to ensure the balanced cable is made according to the MM-100 pin out. If you have existing balanced cables for other headphones it will likely not work.

The pin-out for MM-100 cable connector at the headphone side is the following:

TRRS:

Tip - L+

1st Ring - R+

2nd Ring - L-

Sleeve - R-

The wires in the headband are connecting via two TRRS connectors in parallel, so it's not important which side the cable is connected, left or right. Both versions can be used, single ended (TRS) or balanced (TRRS); the left speaker will always take only the left signal and the right speaker will always take the right signal.

Making this cable balanced will require splitting the L and R channels into appropriate pin-outs for your amplifier.

Here's a diagram for the internal wiring to give a better picture of what's happening:

An average product at best.

In EU, where quality matters, so far no hype.

Browsing this thread, as a local used version has come up for sale, and had to respond to this profoundly ignorant comment.

On what basis do you feel assessments of quality from non-european sources, sit below european opinions?

Cool down and try to understand what I wrote.

For the price that we need to pay for MM-100 in EU, they are not an attractive proposition. To put it mildly
