Looks like a wired, open back Maxwell.
Colour me most definitely interested!

If these are even a little bit better than the Sundara's, I'll be getting a pair.

Cheap modern wired open back Audeze Planar, this is exactly what I wanted.

Audeze finally putting out a open back planar to compete at the sub-500 price point!
This has a chance to be the cat amongst the pigeons.
$400 for a high quality Audeze planar could be something special in this hotly contested price range.

Assuming by the MM-100 model name/number that Audeze is attempting some kinda scaled down, more affordable version of the MM-500, I'm very interested indeed. The MM-500s are my favorite of the many Audeze offerings I have tried. If they manage to capture a similarly well balanced and accurate profile this MM-100 has real potential to introduce some non-Hifiman competition in the affordable planar segment. I'm stoked to see how this turns out.

LCD-1?
I have never gotten to demo a pair so I have been left wondering why these didn't take off more. I'm guessing their must have been some obvious shortcomings?

They didn’t have any annoying peaks and valleys in the response. They just sounded meh, bland.I have never gotten to demo a pair so I have been left wondering why these didn't take off more. I'm guessing their must have been some obvious shortcomings?

I suppose you are right, there is always the LCD-1 which looks like Audeze's version of the Moondrop Void. Not a fan of this one, but the MM100 on the other hand, yes please!LCD-1?

Perhaps. But if you think they are going to compete with their more expensive offerings, think again. This has a chance to be the cat amongst the pigeons.
