I'm looking for the same warmth and bass.Yeah I get ya. I have done that experiment cause my wife did say they aren't that silient and I was so upset about that, but at least she said the XC's are a huge improvement over the hd 800's .
I find compromise by doing a lot of nighttime listening. No problems there and I do find the XC's isolate very well. Don't here anything when the tv is going and all .
Overall, the XC's are massive keepers for me. They do the job well and I find their flaws incredibly minor. No headphone is perfect at any price point.
I bought the XC's to experience more warmth in my music with more guttural sub bass.
Mission accomplished .
I probably should write to Audeze to thank them for such a wonderful build in headphone quality.
Anyway. Enjoy that M-Scaler.

How is the sound leakage with these? I've bought them for late night listening while my wife sleeps. The meze 99s are great for this and I'm hoping the xc is similar.
Anyone have experience with artic cables and the xc?

What are your thoughts guys on the cans?
We liked them many years ago, but it probably depends on how much you'd have to spend on these today.

I picked them up new for 2k CAD. The reviews are great and the look of them is fabulous so I'm happy.

Excellent thank you, because one headfi member said I should return them as they are the worst audeze headphones. Good to hear a positive word on the purchase.
that is nonsense. Every headphone has their Dark spots, sort of speak but make no mistake the LCD XC is a premium headphone for a closed back. That Protross guy should never make an assertion saying the LCD XC’s are a terrible headphone. I actually take offense to that because it is so unfair to say that.
Also DMDM. I noticed you are an HD 800 user, so the XC will be a pleasant difference in your arsenal.
You’ll get the warmth and bass you are looking for.
Hope you enjoy the XC’s as much as I have.

I know you did.
Enjoy man. Actually enjoy the bass cause it is definitely there.
listen to Frontline Assembly’s Initial Command. Great industrial rock album and I feel the XC’s sound sig does a great job conveying the low end presence from this album.

They do leak more than the meze. I have the meze noir as well. If your wife is a light sleeper combined with you listening louder than average, she may not like it.How is the sound leakage with these? I've bought them for late night listening while my wife sleeps. The meze 99s are great for this and I'm hoping the xc is similar.
I dont listen that loudly, plus she is deaf in one ear so I think I'm good.

that is nonsense.
We agree. LCD-2 got very good feedback over the years and this happened for a reason. One doesn't have to like them subjectively, but objectively those are good cans.

Everything has arrived today, the xc, the smsl 888, and the kimber kable hero. I'll hook all that up to the Benchmark Dac1 when I get home for the first system. Then, I'll listen to the xc on the Benchmark Dac2 kimber silver streak setup with the icon audio hp8 tube amp. From ss thx to tubey goodness. Suould be very cool.

We shall see. The hp8 is very powerful.
