I rather have a little less bass and more highs.

I've listened to my sons schiit jotunheim with the multibit mod he also owns the XC's sounds really good and not pricey, he uses balanced cables for his hp's..

I use Roon and there i use the dsp preset for the Audeze LCD 3, just perfect for me, indeed beter highs.

i'm considering pairing an lcd xc with a portable player that can stream from tidal, like ibasso dx150 or dx200. Did anyone test this combination ? I wonder if that's enough to drive the audeze with a good result, and if it will give enough presence to the sound (i wouldn't want a sound that lacks some life)

The DX200 can drive them but you'll need one of the higher output amp modules like the amp 7. With that said, I preferred them straight out of the Hugo 2. They are more resolving and detailed out of it.

Earlier this week I received the Forza Audio Works Noir HPC Mk2 cable. The first impressions are really good.
Despite the cable is fresh out of the box and not even near the recommended burn in period of 100 hours the cable gives a bit of warmth to the sound without the loss of resolution. With the Moon 430HAD as amp it looks like a great pairing with the LCD-XC.
As soon as the burn in period is finished I’ll try to post some more detailled impressions.

Thanks for your feedback, i understand. Did you have the possibility to try pairing the lcd xc with A&K portable players ? i've read that some of them can stream tidal (70mkII, 300, se100...), and i wonder if they would be a better match.
