🙂👍. I'm happy that you were able to find HPA V200 ... such a gem with LCD-X (and numerous other h/p).
The V200 responds well to interconnect cable changes. What cable are you using? I’ve tried several budget options and was dissatisfied with the results. The next thing I decided to try was a vintage General Electric cable from the 1930s-1940s with 1.2 mm conductors. However, this cable also didn’t live up to my expectations. The sound turned out to be quite boring—slightly compressed and somewhat blurred. While the sound was thick, it lacked any real softness and didn’t have enough depth in the low frequencies.

I can recommend the DHC Complement C. It warms up the bass while keeping the details clean and smooth.

DHC Complement C costs more than I paid for my amplifier. I'm considering the Transparent MusicLink Plus, which should have a similar effect.

Besides of this, DHC Complement C is a headphone cable, but I’m looking for an interconnect to connect my DAC and amplifier.

Peter does make interconnects. The Complement C isn't listed but I bet he can make one.

In any case, I don’t think an interconnect cable should cost more than the amplifier. It just doesn’t make sense. Besides, you may have noticed that I’m not located in the USA, and shipping won’t be cheap. We have VAT and duties on any packages over 150 euros.

I READ somewhere that LCD-3 could be a slight upgrade. But at this point you can only have sidegrades? What is it that you’re after? More of what?
That huge room feeling , like your behind the console while the music is being recorded but I want better instrument separation and Better tone and timbre , bass is fine. I can’t go back to headphones that sound small , this makes you feel like a guitar is In the room with you or speakers.

You can try to increase an overall LCD-X performance by upgrading to a higher quality balanced cable, in my case it has changed the sound perception significantly on my LCD-X. The sound scene has increased, everything became sounding softer, more musical, bold and without any loss in detail retrieval.

Where to buy such cable? - that is a good question. I ordered my custom cable from a craftsman I know. He recommended me to use a high purity and conduction copper wire with silver plated contacts. I tried many cheap cables from Aliexpress and they spoils the sound quality in many ways, so I don't reccomend using cheap fake material cables with LCD-X.

Anyone know what headphone would be an upgrade to my 2018 lcd-x?
An upgrade to 2018 LCD-X is Forza Audio Works Noir Hybrid headphone cable (copper / silver intertwined). An upgrade from 2018 LCD-X is ZMF Caldera Open (with FAW Noir Hybrid headphone cable).

After a few years I upgraded my LCD-X to a 4Z.
I feel this is a significant upgrade in most ways. Definitely better imaging and some spectacular mid-range detail. A bigger feeling stage - partly to do with the FR, but also to do with the increased detail in the mids which helps to accentuate the width and provide better separation.
I do still use the X... they have a more prominent upper treble which is good for some things. The Xs have a generally more aggressive feeling, the 4Z are a little more relaxed and distant presentation overall - again due to the smoother more relaxed upper treble. But the 4z are not lacking dynamics at all, certainly very punchy from the sub up through the mids. But no pokey / ticky feeling in the highs.
The 4z are definitely an interesting headphone for me, as the overall feeling is super smooth and warm mid-range TONALLY, but also super articulate. So tonally warm, not slow, sludgy warm.

What are the 4z? That’s how they are called?
