Anybody got a line on where I could buy a Lohb strap? That would greatly improve the comfort!

So what would be the closest sounding to the LCD X in the 4 series. Would it be the MX-4?

I just got mine 2 days ago! They are wonderful phones with an addictive sound signature! Try playing Thomas Dolby's Hyperactive and hear the LCDX come alive!

Not necessarily my type of music but it did sound fantastic hahaha! My go to test song is Steely Dan - Aja (especially the second half of the song) and I can also recommend Animal - The Acid

Yes, definitely. I have had the X for some years now, and later got the MX4, but I had to get the LCD-4 soon afterwards instead, because the MX4 sounded so close to the X on my rigs that I could barely hear the difference. Now I own the X and the 4 and all is well again,

Yeah that's toward the poppier part of music I like. Mostly I like heavier stuff, but the dynamics in that song are awesome for headphone demos. I also love listening to Steely Dan on headphones because all of their albums are so well produced.

Had LCD-X before (around 2013), then change to MX4.

However, I heard there are few changes in sound for newer LCD-X (brighter?), so perhaps going to 4Z is a good way too.

Hi, which Amp/DAC is better;
- Fostex HP-A4BL
- CHORD Mojo
- Monolith by Monoprice Desktop Balanced Headphone Amplifier and DAC with THX AAA Technology (Dual AKM 4493 DACs & Dual AAA-788 Modules)
- iFi Audio - Micro iDSD Black Label
- Schiit Jotunheim
- Audio-GD - NFB11,38 Performance Edition
- Questyle Audio CMA400i

tnx

Mojo or Micro iDSD, as those give you portable options and comparable sonic performance of the others. If you want a desktop setup with tangible performance gain (over the Mojo/micro iDSD), you need to spend more money getting an audio-gd D-28 or Schitt Lyr3+DAC.

Anything THX or Jotunheim will be a bit too dry with the LCD-X in my opinion.

never heard monolith and audio gd.

if portability is not a problem, I will take 400i from your list. However, my personal preference will pick 600i, the price difference worth every penny (both sound quality and functionality).
