I forgot to turn on the Treble Boost EQ and it sounded like so lifeless and thin. I thought I got “normalized”.

I use LCD-5 with my PrimaLuna HP Int Amp (tubes). Sounds just right for LCD-5....
As current, I tested with my Chord TT2 and it sounds very good too.....

Tried ALO STUDIO-SIX AND AEGIS. Sound a little flat....

LCD-5 needs a lot of power to sound great.....This is the only hp in my arsenals that need lots of power to get right....
I am driving the LCD-5 with a TT2 and am quite happy. Do you think it's worth getting a tube amp on top? Does it increase spaciousness? How would you describe the difference of TT2 alone vs TT2+PrimaLuna ?

If you’re using a TT2 turn not really. It would only be for colouration. TT2 is already a very spacious sounding source.

I used a built-in equalizer in the Mac (Treble Boost) and it sounded not natural and clumsy.
The HP only "worked" after I set the gain to 18db of Niimbus...
Anyone who complains about LCD5 needs to put higher gain or better amplifier.

Even my HiBy RS8 is enough in turbo mode to drive the LCD5. Of course when paired with the C9 it gets even better, but the LCD5 stays at my "best of the best".

Cables are interchangeable between all LCD models except LCD-1.
