Audeze LCD-4

How do the DCA Stealth compare to LCD 4?
I have been meaning to pick up a pair.
Stealth is easily a tier below in resolution and realism but has a more "correct" tuning.

Stealth is much more closed-in and exhibits the common planar timbre whereas LCD4 is probably top 2 for timbre.

Stealth is a good headphone, but assuming LCD4 is 2.5K - 3K, value adjusted the Stealth would be $1600-$1900 in my book.

The LCD4 has more impact. I however don't feel the Stealth is lacking in detail. It is just smoother in its delivery. I also find the soundstage is just as large as the Audeze.

Hello - what are you folks using with your LCD-4, stock black and white or an after-market cable? Amp I’ll primarily being using is SE (Milo), so will either stick with the stock B&W cable or maybe bother Matt again for a Forza SE version.

Very happy with my 10 ft periapt, which cost about $100. I personally would never spend more than that on a cable, but I'm a cable non-believer. (Not trying to start a debate, just saying).

I'm also not fanatical about cables, but the stock B&W cable is so aesthetically displeasing that it affects my thinking / listening experience.

Periapt cables can be ordered in whatever length and color you desire. They are light, flexible and durable.

I always thought the stock cable is pretty nice. I did use a Norne silver cable. But I don't think you are going to hear much difference over the stock. Of course I have bought cables for the looks alone.

I agree, the stock cable is very good. Mine is black and white.

I also use a Norne cable, a mix of copper/silver. it is nice as I can also use the cable on my ZMF VC.

I've found the stock B&W cable to be quite nice. I've tried a few others that I had on hand, including a balanced 4 pin XLR termination, and actually like the stock cable best.

Hey Derek,

You're using the stock SE cable?

I don't like the SQ of stock black and white cable. I use the Forza hybrid and it makes the LCD-4 sing.

Such a stunning cable.
Might have to get in touch with them...

I roll my eyes at the supposed sound benefits of "upgrade cables", but man, I can totally get behind the looks and craftsmanship.
