Audeze LCD-4

Should work fine, however it tells me Sold out.
What was the price?
Also a little confused about the power output.
The 6w in 32ohm would be like the drop thx 789
12w in 32 Ohm is insanely powerful though.
I also do not know what happened. They must have had very limited inventory which sold out fast. That's my own speculation, but in reality, it still doesn't sound like your typical Massdrop play, and remains a head-scratcher. Personally, I saw the drop yesterday, and they were still looking for at least one buyer to bite, at that point, with about 4 days to go. The price was $780, apparently down from $1k. From that point, it should definitely not be "sold through" today, unless their inventory was severely limited, but there was no indication of such a limited inventory on the page yesterday that I recall seeing.

Could I please have some amp only recommendations for £1k or roughly $1300. Is there anything at this price point that will work well with the LCD4? Much appreciated. I like a smooth top end with plenty of bass slam.
Try to get a second hand GSX- Mini...best amp for my pair of Lcd4...and everything else.

Agree, the Bryston is a good choice as well. Don’t know why I sold it but there’s always something else I need to try...

Does anyone have experience attaching the current style of audeze replacement ear pads to their LCD-4?

I’ve shown the replacement set I have just received from my dealer in London in the attached photo. He got this set from the Audeze servicing office in the UK. I have studied a few of the YouTube videos showing the attachment process, but in none of these does the replacement ear pad have a felt surface on the contact ring of the ear pad. Do I attach the double-sided adhesive ring to that, or should I first remove the felt surface? I have sent a question to Audeze, but I don’t know how quickly they can reply in these troubled Coronavirus times.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

I believe the felt is what relieves the air pressure when you put the headphone on. The air pressure was causing drivers to fail. The felt was added to fix the issue. I would think you want the felt on there.

My pair has arrived today. Just started listening and I imagine it will go on through a good part of the night.

How do they sound with the GSX? I’ll have a similar setup once Audeze starts shipping to dealers again and I’m hoping it will drive the headphones well.

Hi,
I am sure the GS-X mk2 will sound great...but to be honest I have not plugged them into it as of yet...still listening with my SET amp.
I know some people don't like the LCD-4 with tubes, but it sounds sublime to me.

I will post once I plug them into the GS-X mk2.
I loved my LCD-3 pre-fazor with the SS amp and I can't imagine the LCD-4 will be any different.

I'm looking for the best value ss amp for about £2k GBP'ish to go with the ldc4's. Anyone have experience of Mjolnir audio ss amps? if so, what were your impressions?
I'll also look at the Violectric v281. I prefer neutral sounding amps rather than a V shape, and I have a bad tolerance of treble, so something non-fatiguing too. What would you suggest?
Dac is Chord 2 Qute.

I run my LCD4's on a Woo WA5le and GSX mk2. Sound great with both. I think the sound stage is bigger and the treble a little smoother on the Woo. But the GSX is very fast and balanced. Just different flavors.

A friend has run his LCD-4 off the Bryston BHA-1 for years. I think it sounds great and it is spot on your budget. They also have a 20 year warranty.
