Could I please have some amp only recommendations for £1k or roughly $1300. Is there anything at this price point that will work well with the LCD4? Much appreciated. I like a smooth top end with plenty of bass slam.

Violectric V280 or V281 can be found used in that price range and Drop.com just had a run of new V280’s at $1200. They are really dynamic amps that compliment the LCD-4 quite well and have bass slam and low-end grip to spare.

I drive my LCDs with the monoprice 887 ($400 actually) and I keep it at the second of three gain settings and tweak vol from there. Volume is very reasonable at this level.

For 1k total I'd recommend a Schiit Jotunheim 400$ + the newly released Schiit Modius DAC 200$. That's 600$ and works fine to use them.
Obviously it doesn't make them schine to perfection, however nothing below 1k total will do that.
If you want some tube magic you can go for the Schiit Lyr3 500$ or for a higher price the Schiit Mjolnir 2 850$

Other options are e.g. the new Topping A90 amp for 500$.

Any quick comparisons between the Schist JOTUNHEIM and the Monoprice THX 887 with the LCD4 as they are priced similar? Which one does bass and or mids better?

I have joined the club,just have to wait for them to arrive. I have a few amps to try with them and I much look forward to it. I recently just sold my LCD-3 pre razor and I hope I won’t miss them too much

Speaking of Amps, how about the Gustard H20, which is now on Massdrop? I've never heard it, but it seems to have what it takes to drive the 4 well.

Should work fine, however it tells me Sold out.
What was the price?
Also a little confused about the power output.
The 6w in 32ohm would be like the drop thx 789
12w in 32 Ohm is insanely powerful though.
