Photo not visible on my side?Hello all,
I just wanted to show what @MIR05LAV did for the LCD-4s I have. Some custom carbon fiber work he did himself! I think they look pretty cool, also "weight savings", take a look! (Sorry for the potato quality, I don't have a nice camera, spent everything on headphones lol)
All this is @MIR05LAV and his craftsmanship, these feel OEM quality, he even engraved the "AUDEZE LCD-4" and "PLANAR MAGNETIC TECHNOLOGY" into each grille, simply awesome!
Also, I want to thank @rthomas for sending his LCD-4s to Oratory1990, I love the EQ settings, especially while playing FPS games, I legitimately feel a "presence" when big things are going on (building falling down or something), and it sounds somewhat out of my head, all while being contained in the headphones. Also it sounds great for music and stuff too.
This community is so awesome, happy listening all!

I fell in love with this headphone when i heard it at the Audeze booth with the Nagra tube DAC/Amp setup. With that said, if anyone is willing to sell theirs, i am here to buy! Thanks for the good impressions and info in this thread so far.
I received some photos from @Softable , hope he won't mind me showing themPhoto not visible on my side?
Thats a really cool effect of mirroring the carbonfiber headband! Brilliant visual mod

After being not fully satisfied using my LCD4 with my Woo WA22 (good, but I craved more dynamism), I tried the headphones with my old less refined but beefy Burson HA-160. A better combo to my ears. The LCD4 seems to crave that sheer power. The Burson is very forward sounding and a little bright on top (never played well with brighter cans), but it balances beautifully with the Audeze-- makes the LCD4 come forward from being a little too polite, and gives it a satisfying sparkle on top (but not too bright). And greater dynamism. I love my Woo amps, but they'll stay with my other headphones. The Audeze--Burson combo has a satisfying balanced and dynamic quality. Down the road I'll consider a better solid state amp (some already mentioned in this thread), but for now, I'm hearing more of the LCD4's potential, and I'm diggin' it...

Not just power but current as well...something tube amps (like the WA22) can't fully supply for these headphones. I prefer the LCD-4 with a good powerful ss amp.
The Woo WA5le is a nice choice if you like tubes. It powers my LCD4's as well as my Abyss TC, Hifiman HE6se, and HEDDphone. Gobs of power.

The rule of the LCD-4 seems to be more current/power or buy something else. I feel like the LCD-4 is equally as notorious for being power hungry as the Abyss and HE6.Not just power but current as well...something tube amps (like the WA22) can't fully supply for these headphones. I drive mine with a VAC 70/70 tube speaker amp....65 watts from 8 -300b tubes.Just what they need...LOLThe rule of the LCD-4 seems to be more current/power or buy something else. I feel like the LCD-4 is equally as notorious for being power hungry as the Abyss and HE6.
Gotta say I sat down with the LCD4, 4z and the 24 at CanJam driven by the a TT2 and Mscaler. The 4 is easily the best sounding can. The 4z has more upper midrange energy, but a smaller soundstage and less resolution. The LCD24 sounded ”splashy”. Lots of upper midrange energy, slightly larger soundstage, but also a harsher sound. Also, because of that upper midrange emphasis it sounds comparatively bass lite too. So my advice is if buying in the LCD 4 family, stick with the 4 if you can drive it and stand the weight.

Speaking of the LCD4. Had to send in my second-hand pair that had a dead Right driver. When they come back with the factory freshies, what's the general sense of break-in period?
100 hours or so before it settles maybe?

LOL I only have the LCD-3s at the moment but I've got you beat in wattage, I'm driving them via the speaker taps of my 110 watt Kenwood KA-9100.I drive mine with a VAC 70/70 tube speaker amp....65 watts from 8 -300b tubes.Just what they need...LOL
I'm always a little surprised by how many people under power them.
