Well this makes the 4s officially keepers. This is the email from Simcoe I just received:

Regarding partial refund for the damage we missed, we can refund 10%, $330 back to you for the over sight and issues.

You will have warranty from date of purchase with the exception of the cosmetic issues which the purchase price and partial refund reflect.

Again Audeze’s warranty is 3 years on drivers and 1 year on all other parts.

Wow, these are incredible. These are the best headphones I have ever heard hands downbest .

Interesting : So how does headphone nirvana look and feel like with your LCD-4 on in full throttle?

Please feel free free to choose the one who represents your eargasm experiences best. You may choose more than one description

I used to own all 3 and currently own the TC and susvara...I love the LCD-4 and think it is the most underrated of all the TOTL options but I sold it because it is not quite as good as the TC or Susvara, that said it is such a comfortable listen that it was really hard to let it go....

I for sure prefer the LCD-4 to the Susvara.

Regarding the TC- perhaps it is better- but close call; very very close.

The LCD is the fullest sounding of them all by far and looses NO detail to my ears.

IMHO, of them all, the LCD needs the best equipment to shine and will sound the worst with lesser equipment.

It's funny because as you step up the audio food chain things are revealed in recordings that are sometimes not so great. From the benchmark through the bryston to the 4s. A few tracks with the LCD 4 reveal digital hash/static/noise, where I can hear it slightly with the clears or x, which masks a lot of this, but the lcd 4s reveal all of the shortcomings.

Like Chicane's new remix album must have been mixed too hot as there is some of this hash audible with my lesser headphones, but is very apparent with the 4s. The end of the track Freelove by DM also has some hash that I have never heard before. Dave Gahan's voice in Barrel of a Gun takes on new grit as there is some distortion around his voice, which seems intentional, to give the song a more industrial feel.

Everything comes with a price I suppose. That would be my one 'first world' gripe with these.

Hello all... Just getting back into the headfi space after a hiatus. Will the LCD-4 pair okay with an RME ADI-2, and a Monolith Liquid Platinum? Or do they require more power and a higher end amp to really shine? Trying to decide between these and the Abyss Diana Phi for my open backs. Thanks for any input!
