Audeze iSINE 10 & iSINE 20: Audeze releases two new IEM planar magnetic earphones

I picked up some iSine 20's yesterday, finally had some stock available. So far I am using the medium (ribbed) tip and the large earhooks. Comfort seems fine, the earlocks I cannot get to work at all, which is a little disappointing, as the ear hooks are a little finnicky. But I am sure I'll get used to that.

The sound is really impressive. Very clear and has some nice bass extension. More listening needs to be done!

Having had the pleasure of using these now for two weeks, I must say I am having a hard time using anything else. I'm running 10s with dragonfly black tidal hi-fi and S8+. I tried my P7 wireless today and immediately switched back to the 10s. P7s are no slouch but can't match the 10s. Now I feel like I may need the 20s...

I'm using the 20s with Shanling m1 and Mojo. The soundstage and detail retrieval/ seperation is astonishing, but musicality is sustained and brilliant.
On Patricia Barber's Cafe Blue, I was just going to sample the album, biut it was so incredible I just listened to the whole album.
If I had 1 criticism, albums with subterranean base like Talvin Singhs OK are smoothed-out, the base is there, but you don't feel it!
But with the right material, it just sounds like you're there at the concert hall, or listening through premium speakers.

Hello, I was wondering what the iSine 20s were equivalent to in Audeze's line?

I have heard they are equivalent to the LCD-3s or at least miniature versions of them, but I would like to hear other opinions.

(Sorry if this has been said before, but I can't find where to search the forum anymore after the update)

Thanks!

I don't really think the sound signature is the same as the LCD series because of how dark the LCDs are so I don't know how to compare them. My 20s, in terms of sound signature, sound closer the Sine closed back headphones. They're more neutral than LCDs but sound better than the regular Sine headphones.

I can't get mine to sound good without the Cipher cable. I don't know what it is but even when I try eq I always like the sound with the Cipher better.

I also like the cipher sound signature better than the analog. However, I think that the i20's do sound their best when paired with better gear, and eq'd to the cipher sound sig. Here's the eq that I use, it should be pretty identical to the eq in the cipher cable.

Filter 1: ON PK Fc 394,4 Hz Gain -2,66 dB Q 0,90
Filter 2: ON PK Fc 735,8 Hz Gain -3,16 dB Q 0,92
Filter 3: ON PK Fc 1583,0 Hz Gain -6,10 dB Q 1,00
Filter 4: ON PK Fc 2545,0 Hz Gain 6,00 dB Q 2,08
Filter 5: ON PK Fc 3975,0 Hz Gain 3,70 dB Q 1,26
Filter 6: ON PK Fc 10150,0 Hz Gain -5,13 dB Q 4,39
Filter 7: ON PK Fc 199,5 Hz Gain -4,00 dB Q 0,71
Filter 8: ON PK Fc 12157,0 Hz Gain -2,97 dB Q 0,56
Filter 9: ON PK Fc 7666,0 Hz Gain 1,64 dB Q 0,71

I also use a low-shelf filter at 100hz +3db, but that is a preference thing.

I recently bought the LCD-2s but on Saturday I'm going to have a couple of hours comparing them to the iSine 20s. I'll let you know what I find if that would be helpful.

EDIT:

So my iSine 20 cypher cable got fried, because the firmware update failed. But the Dir of Reserach for Audeze saw my message, and was kind enough to PM me.

I'm really sad because this was my birthday present, and I had to wait 30 days for them to get it in stock. But I'm also happy that Audeze is so quick and kind to deal with this. So yeah, mixed emotions. Really bummed out. But also grateful to Audeze.

Thanks, is this eq on a laptop as the source or what's the program to set it? I'm an eq noob lol.
